The group owns and operates its own label, BGA Records, where group member/manager, Branden Anderson serves as President/CEO, and the other members hold executive positions within the company. Serving as excellent role models and being advocates of education, every member is either attending, or has graduated from college. THE next great Contemporary Quartet, are four brothers hailing from Arkansas who effortlessly blend current musical sensibilities with the Traditional Quartet sound on their just released debut album "Image."

Combining old and new, "Image" offers sweet and intricate harmonies that abound with that special something that only family can produce. The group, set on becoming 'THE' Quartet Group of this Generation, has a modernized sound that pays homage to the past and is infused with something all their own. It is soul-driven music that honors their passion for the throw-back sound with today's musical relevance.

IMAGE gives both fresh vocals and high energy on the 11-track project which is a composite of styles that range from traditional to old school soul to a little R&B. The album features all-new music from singer, songwriter and producer Montrell Darrett. There are several stand-out cuts such as the rollicking musical "Never Let Go," the thoughtful ballad "We're Gonna Make It," and the contemporary R&B songs "Redeemed" and "Live and Love."

The centerpiece of the project is the lead single, "I Feel Good," literally a 'feel good' song that is done in the traditional approach and this selection shows why down-home quartet music never goes out of style. Its up-tempo and spirited beat illustrates the time-honored foundation the group is built upon.

Ken Reynolds-Great Things

Reynolds is the Worship Pastor of the Worship and Creative Arts Department for the 7500-member Resurrection Life Church in Grandville, Mich. He was previously featured on the CD For You I Live; a live album recorded at Resurrection Life and released by Integrity this past August.

“Ken Reynolds is an extremely talented musician with a heart for international and multi-cultural ministry,” says John Coleman, Integrity Label Group VP/General Manager.  “He shares Integrity’s passion for leading people into the presence of God through worship and he understands firsthand that worship is a catalyst for bringing the Church together.”

The 17-track Great Things also was recorded live at Resurrection Life and features Reynolds along with the church’s choir and musicians and a guest performance by bassist Victor Wooten of the Grammy Award-winning Bela Fleck & the Flecktones.

Reynolds wrote, arranged and produced most of the songs for Great Things with a little help from his younger brother Troy who wrote/arranged two tracks and also played keys for the record.  A multi-talented musician, Ken also played bass guitar and organ.

Reynolds has been making music for as long as he can remember – playing drums at age three, learning piano at six and bass by 10. His musical influences range from Earth, Wind & Fire to Andrae Crouch and Rachmaninov. And, his eclectic tastes and musical versatility blend seamlessly in the dynamic and diverse worship music valued at Resurrection Life.

Before joining the staff of the church, Reynolds spent six years as music director and songwriter for the Christian group His Image while working worked part-time as a worship leader for the Madison Square Christian Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, Mich. While there, he was able to develop and grow the church’s choir and record two CDs of all-original compositions.

Ken's passion for music has been fueled by such influential musicians as: Fred Hammond, Maurice White of Earth, Wind & Fire, Walter Hawkins, Michael W. Smith, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, George Duke and Keith Thomas. It's evident in his style as a songwriter, producer and Praise and Worship leader.

Ken spent six years as the music director and key songwriter for an all male Christian group, “His Image”. When a Detroit-based record label signed “His Image”, the group was able to expand their outreach and ministry to many. During that time, he also served as the worship leader part-time with Madison Square Christian Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, MI. While at Madison Square Church, he was able to develop and grow an 85-member choir and record 2 Praise and Worship CD's of all original compositions. He eventually accepted a full-time music ministry opportunity at Resurrection Life Full Gospel Church.

While there, he was licensed as part of the pastoral team at Resurrection Life Church to help serve the over 7000-member congregation. He currently serves as the lead worship pastor for the Worship and Creative Arts department. For him, it is a privilege and an honor to serve God’s people full-time doing what he loves to do-train others to be worship leaders and share God’s music to lift up the name of JESUS!

In addition to playing and instructing, studios and artists frequently seek after Ken for his musicianship and producing skills. Through the course of time, Ken has become one of the newest rising worship leaders for this century! He is a gifted songwriter, producer, and arranger who credits all he is able to do in the ministry back to God. In the last two years, Ken’s songs have been selected and recorded by the Saddleback Church in California as a part of their internationally renowned Song Seeker CD Project. Well-known artists such as Promise Keepers’ Bishop Joseph Garlington and Morris Chapman have sung Ken’s songs. Now, some of Ken’s songs are being sung all over the world. Ken has had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the United States and abroad, and has been invited to lead worship in Portugal, Africa and the Caribbean as well as various venues in the United States. He is looking forward to watching God move with the introduction of his latest and first solo CD “Great Things”. To Him be ALL the Honor and All the Glory...Amen

Nathaniel L. Cole-God Is Waiting

Nathaniel L. Cole is a gift to the body of Christ!. There is a serious call upon his life not only for music ministry but also for the preaching of the gospel. Elder Nate, as he is lovingly called, began playing the keyboard at the precious age of 3. With no formal training, he began to excel each passing year. It's not surprising that he would do well because his father, Bishop Willie Cole, prayed that God would send singers and musicians to help in the ministry. Well, God told him to look around, and all that he saw were his four children, Michelle, Raymond, Felicia, and Nathaniel. God has truly anointed them to write, sing, preach, etc. and He anwered his prayer. Oh Yeah, be on the look out for their upcoming projects also. Well, Like a rose budding and the richness of colors slowly being revealed, Nathaniel began writing and creating his own songs and music in his pre-teens. Through much prayer and support from family, friends, and his loving wife and baby girl, God has moved him from one level to another. In 1998, his music ministry took on a name, Flaming Fire Productions (Heb. 1:7). He believes that God has raised him up for such a time as this because there is "fire" in his music! He also believes that the songs on his upcoming project, "God is Waiting!", will change lives and administer hope to those who have been broken by the trials of life. His music knows no age; there is somethingin it for everyone.

William is in preparation to digitally release his debut CD entitled “Just a Reminder” on January 8, 2008. James Hall & WAP-LIVE at the Foxwoods

To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever - Ps 30:12. This echoes the sentiment of one whose heart embraces the writing and directing of melodic music that sets forth the gospel of Jesus Christ through masterful psalm ship. I speak of Brooklyn's own, world renowned artist and minister of music... the Duke of Gospel, Mr. James Hall.

Hall is the skillful singer, director, and composer among those often talked about. He has worked with the world's top artists: Gladys Knight, Mary J. Blige, Michael Bolton, Cyndi Lauper, Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, and others.

He is most known for the killer vibratos and twister harmonies found in the best of today's gospel music. Its no wonder choirs all across the nation duplicate his music. It's loved as a 21st century antidote for Church-Tradition-Transcended. Music with a James Hall appeal is music that has a stay true Anointing that drives the discouraged listener to an immediate place of encouragement with just one chorus.

Startling is the cacophony of spiritual entwinement found in every CD he's ever written. Consider James Hall and Worship and Praise. Anyone in possession of their CDs can attest to the fact that Hall is an unmatched talent. Moreover, the latest evidence is found in his new project, No Joy No Strength by James Hall and the Voices of Citadel, a CD that further declares Hall as a unique musician. Not one can package his style. Clearly when he brings his skill to a choir or ensemble we can anticipate an inevitable scream manic explosion to take place that aims to the highest degree of intensity - singing with the high beams on - PITCH pleasing hallelujah - if you will.

Who is James Hall? James is a native of Brooklyn, NY, the youngest of seven children, born and raised by his mother the Late Lula Mae Hall. Lula Mae Hall was the first to nurture his keen musical talent as a singer and musician who learned to play piano by ear. She enrolled him in classical training at the age of five and encouraged his singing voice which projected a striking soprano range. She loved putting him up to sing solos at numerous church programs, which earned him the title of Master James Hall.

Sadly Ms. Hall passed away when James was 12 years old, but she continues to live in the honor of his gospel successes, all of which are credited to her. 'Having grown up in the projects, I could have gone so many different ways. Most of my friends got caught up in a lot of negative stuff, but I decided to stay in church and stick with God. The reverence of my mother is the reason I am where I am today.'

James attended James Madison High School, the place where destiny was sealed and opportunity was plentiful. He was appointed director of the James Madison Gospel Chorus (JMGC) and utilized the challenge to pursue what he'd been feeling for so long, a desire to direct a large choir. The moment he lifted his hands to conduct, he was blessed with the natural ability to perform. It was like second nature. This experience helped him finally realize he was living his dream.
Past memories of looking in the mirror, perfecting the moves of his reflection, or rounding up his nieces to reenact a church moment were finally paying off. It was not long after that JMGC amassed a local following, which created some discomfort among school administrator. The school was challenged by the growing travel and exposure of the choir and how they should handle the attention. It was at this point that Hall decided to take the next step in his path to destiny.

In 1987 he founded Worship & Praise, his own gospel singing ensemble. Under this new umbrella of freedom James heightened his quest to perform the Lord's psalm ship. WAP began participating in as many local choir events as would have they. Their intense determination to serve was the humility that opened the doors of many venues. Oftentimes they would volunteer their talent to these functions out of a strong desire to sing.

Untiringly they pressed until they were blessed with a big break in 1992, the opportunity to perform a five minute spot on TV's Bobby Jones Gospel. With great excitement they traveled to Atlanta to take advantage this extraordinary assignment. 'We were given a five minute set on stage, but time did not take into account the fall of the Spirit. At the end of our performance when the curtain fell down, the Spirit came up and took everybody up into a powerful praise! The audience was messed up for a good five to ten minutes.' It was just the break they had been looking for, as earlier that year Worship & Praise recorded their first project at the Institutional COGIC on a small independent label called Tehillah Records. Due to the great exposure garnered from the show, WAP landed a major record deal with Intersound.

Their debut album on Intersound 'God is in Control' soared to the top ten on the billboard charts, which marked Hall as a major force on the NY choir scene.

In 1995 with his sophomore set 'King of Glory' recorded in Montreal, Canada, Hall scored another top ten release and was dubbed 'The Doctor' by New York industry professionals like WWDJ gospel announcer Samuel Williams who cited Hall as 'one who really knows how to operate gospel music'.

Riding the wave continued with additional recording projects: Live in Atlanta at the Rialto Theater, Live at the world famous Lincoln Center, and Live on the Sony Sound Stage.

Hall's most recent accomplishments include the live recording at Foxwoods Casino and Resorts, where he unveiled his latest compositions of James Hall and Worship and Praise. This project has been long awaited, and is bound to be a number one seller in the music industry. Live at Foxwoods will be in stores everywhere October 2, 2007 and is released on James's new label Music Blend.

Hall has never disappointed his fans. He vows to continue to bless the gospel industry with great gospel music.

Isaac Simpson & DP-Right Now
The time is now for gospel recording artist Isaac Simpson and his group, Divine Providence. They recently won the coveted title of "Artist Overall Winners" at the Gospel Music Academy's regional competition in Nashville, Tennessee. Isaac Simpson is a 3 time GMA award winner. This summer, they will compete at GMA in the Rockies, in an effort to bring home the national title and catch the eye of record label execs at this premier Christian music event and competition. If that wasn't enough, Divine Providence is also planning a summer tour and CD release celebration and LIVE DVD recording for their latest project "The Time is Now."

Songwriter, vocalist and producer, Isaac D. Simpson is the visionary behind Divine Providence, also known as DP. Simpson, who comes from a long generation of singers, songwriters and entertainers, has been involved with music since childhood. He began to conduct professional workshops and direct citywide choirs at an early age. By the time he was twenty-six, he had conducted workshops throughout the U.S. and in the Caribbean Islands, Great Britain and Europe. He has shared the stage with gospel greats, Vicki Winans, James Moore, Marvin Sapp, Kurt Carr and Rance Allen. He graced the stage with Coretta Scott-King, appearing as a special vocalist at a celebration honoring her and appeared on the Bobby Jones Gospel Hour.

Originally from Los Angeles, California, Simpson founded DP in 1998 to give young Christian adults an outlet to share their music with the world. He came up with the name Divine Providence while listening to a sermon by Bishop George "Awesome" Dawson. The name means 'instantaneous will of God'. In just one year's time, the energetic youth chorale from Central Ohio, produced an album titled "He Loves Me." Written, arranged, and produced by Simpson, the project is influenced by jazz and hip hop.

Currently, Simpson travels with Apostle Brian Keith Williams as a psalmist and leads worship at All Nations Church in Columbus, OH. Simpson believes that this generation will be saved through gospel music. "Gospel music is wonderful," he said. "It has the ability to transcend from generation to generation." Transcending generations is one goal Simpson shares with DP; the second is helping others bring their lives into focus with their God-given purpose.

Onitsha-Church Girl

Onitsha, background singer for platinum-selling duo Mary Mary, is a rare and inspiring study in contrasts. Her debut album, Church Girl, proves she is one of the brightest new stars in the firmament of contemporary inspirational music, and yet the concept of "star-tripping" is not even in her vocabulary. She and her acclaimed producer and co-writer, Shep Crawford (Whitney Houston, Kelly Price, Yolanda Adams), write song after song, each somehow managing to obey all the rules of great, accessible, popular music, while at the same time stretching—if not breaking altogether—every single one of them.

And at every turn throughout Church Girl, Onitsha succeeds mightily and majestically at tearing down walls between musical genres, radio formats and—most significantly—the "us-and-them" mentality that has much too often, and for far too long, kept the Church and the world in their own separate corners of Creation.

"My Life" is easy, sturdy R&B/funk, that finds Onitsha unleashing mind-bending improvisations and riffs as if they were second nature, backed by a star-studded ensemble that includes Erica and Tina of Mary, Mary, Deborah Cox and CoCo of '90s R&B icons, SWV.

"Don't Give Up" struts a steady hip-hop groove that embodies the Onitsha sound, with its solid, punchy bottom end, and just enough instrumental color to add the right flavor; all making sure to leave lots of space for Onitsha and the ensemble to lay down vocals that are nothing less than stunning.

"He Is" takes a cool, retro-soul vibe—slinky wah-wah guitar and all—and melds it to a modern-to-the-minute rhythm section, yielding a best-of-both-worlds amalgam that is both compellingly original, and like all of Onitsha's work, relentlessly catchy, the way any great popular song should be.

Onitsha proudly shows her church roots in "God Is On Your Side," which deftly and even ingeniously adds a touch of hip-hop rhythm and jazzy pop to the reverential Sunday morning spirit that lies at the heart of it all.

"Search Me" treads on turf that even long-standing gospel divas might fear to go, as the wonders of modern engineering yield a very modern-sounding mix of gospel matriarch Mahalia Jackson's original, classic recording, with Onitsha dueting with "The Queen." Presuming to traffic in such hallowed company is a bold, even risky move, and any serious gospel fan will tell you straight up that you better have the goods to deliver, or get out of town, and quickly. Never even presuming to out-sing the greatest of gospel greats, Onitsha simply, and with all due respect, just sings her parts in her own, natural, captivating and unaffected way, turning out a track that can't help but make any listener smile from here to next year.

Producer and co-writer Crawford has no trouble putting his finger on exactly what it was about Onitsha that made her stand out from the countless singers a hit producer hears, in the search for exciting and original new talent.

"Onitsha is a truly unique voice," he says. "I hear lots and lots of singers who can really sing. They've got all the runs and all the riffs, but they just don't have that extra 'something.' Think of all the classic singers, from James Cleveland, to Stevie Wonder...Gladys Knight. When their voices come on the radio, you immediately know who it is. That's the stuff legends are made of."

Onitsha, who laughingly refers to herself as "an L.A. girl, all the way," was indeed born in Los Angeles and lived there her first ten years, at which time her parents divorced and she moved to Oklahoma, where her mother attended Bible college, until she was 15 and relocated, again and for good, to her original and-still home.

Onitsha came into the world as the newest entry into a long lineage of great singers, inheriting that same gift for music herself. Singing as long as she can remember, she in fact made her formal debut when she was three years old in a church musical production.

The utter uniqueness of Church Girl comes as no surprise when Onitsha reflects on the range and caliber of styles and music that surrounded her as a child. That repertoire was a mix of mainstream R&B and pop, and gospel, depending on which family member's house she was in at any given time. From relatives less steeped in the faith, she heard and absorbed all the major secular artists of the day, with Stevie Wonder particularly filling and spinning her young head. At home, where her mother ruled both the roost and the playlist on the family radio and stereo, gospel reigned supreme, with Onitsha today still citing gospel great Vanessa Bell Armstrong, with her stratospheric soprano and legendary vocal pyrotechnics, as having dramatically impacted her own artistic development.

Onitsha's first career thought as a teenager was to be a physician, until fate and William "Zack" Harmon, a musical friend of her father's who also happened to own a recording studio, intervened. Having heard Onitsha sing at churches and community events, he was staggered by the 16-year-old's very grown-up voice, and offered to do some demo recordings of her. They recorded several songs that Harmon played for an executive/friend at a major gospel label, who was equally impressed.

By the time Onitsha turned 17, she had logged the first two big-name credits of what would be a long list to come, as she was asked to record guest solos on two of the label's acts, Bryan Wilson, and the Mississippi Mass Children's Choir. Onitsha was hooked, and knew from that moment on that music was her life's calling. With her gaze toward the future firmly fixed, she literally never looked back and hardly even paused for breath. She eagerly dove into in every musical group, production and function offered by both her church and high school, including a four-voice "girl-group" with the name Harmony, aptly foreshadowing what would be a hallmark of her professional style and soul.

Upon her graduation, college seemed like a reasonable next step, but after only a year, Onitsha's destiny was exerting a strong, undeniable tug. High visibility in a popular community gospel choir started a word-of-mouth buzz about the young woman with the amazing voice, that soon found her singing constantly, with the choir as well as solo, throughout metro L.A. As 2000 rolled into 2001, Onitsha's phone was ringing off the hook with offers of background vocal work coming in from superstar acts, the first of which was gospel/mainstream crossover phenomenon, Mary, Mary. A year and a half with Mary, Mary led to work with more major artists including Deborah Cox, Ashanti, Jada Pinkett-Smith, and Destiny's Child, and a full-circle return to Mary, Mary whom she sang on spot dates during their 2005 tour and as later invited to be a part of their 2006 Hero Tour with Kirk Franklin as the headliner. Earlier this year, Onitsha was invited to perform on Christina Aguilera's upcoming release. Finally, if you ask Onitsha about a major highlight in her career, she would tell you without skipping a beat, singing on Stevie Wonder's latest release, A Time 2 Love and by personal request of Mr. Wonder, recording jingles for his Los Angeles based radio station.

But Onitsha, feeling once again the nudging of an Almighty hand, speaks with almost biblical eloquence when asked what comes next.

"It's time for me to move into what He's been preparing me for all my life," she says. "I've been so blessed by all the doors He's opened for me, and all the wonderful, amazingly talented people I've had a chance to work with, but there's more I feel a need to do. I want to give people something to latch onto in my music that can really change their lives. "

"It's a mission," she concludes, "and I'm ready to undertake it, and to go wherever it takes me."

Cecil Thornton & Transparent-LIVE Simplicity

Cecil is a proud native of Houston, Texas where he was born to the Reverend and Mrs. E.D. Thornton. The song life for Cecil may not have been far fetched because growing up he would watch his mother in amazement sing the old hymns of the church. This was the catalyst that birthed the seed of music in Cecil at an early age. His dream was to travel across the world singing praises to God. This past year Cecil Thornton and Transparent traveled for three weeks in Europe. They ministered in cities such as Venice, Milan, Sicily, and many other places where they sung in theatres and churches. After graduating from high school Cecil relocated to Atlanta to pursue his education as well as singing career. Since moving to Atlanta, Cecil has been the guest soloist for many musical aggregations, including his mentor and national recording artist, the late Minister Dirk Chaney and he has also sung background for Gospel Legend Tramaine Hawkins. He recently started his own ministry, "Transparent". The name was given from the mouth of God to the soul and heart of Cecil to clearly convey that as ministers we must open ourselves to the will and move of God. This diverse group of all female singers are clearly anointed and appointed to share the vision of Cecil to the nations. Cecil has created a unique, refreshing genre of music which incorporates jazz, neo-soul, and pop in a wonderful gospel combination. Dex Akins & Divine Purpose-It's My Season

Dex was born Dexter Akins in Murfreesboro TN. His parents, Michael and Janice Walker, raised him in a military household. Consequently, Dex lived in many different places growing up, but Tennessee was always home.

Dex began singing at the age of eight. All who heard him were astonished at the beauty of his voice. Not long after he began singing, Dex earned his first church solo. It was titled, "Because He Lives". Dex's stirring rendition of this classic led many to tears and helped Dex discover his purpose in life. Dex says, "My purpose is to build up the people of God through song as well as win those who don't know Him".

As he grew older, Dex continued to sing. When he was 13, while his family was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, Dex was approached by a talent scout. This talent scout wanted Dex to record an album and sing professionally. Unfortunately, for gospel music fans, he was unable to record then because his family had to return to the states.

Dex sang in many churches around the world and performed in a number of plays growing up including "The Wiz", "Hear My Cry", "Looks Can Be Deceiving", "Grandmas Baby Boy", "What If There Were No Black People", "Signed Sealed and Delivered", and most recently, "If These Walls Could Talk". Dex has also had the pleasure of singing on many stages throughout the United States but says his career highlight has been performing on stage with one of his musical idols, Kirk Franklin while still in high school.

Dex eventually returned back home to Murfreesboro, TN where he attended Middle Tennessee State University. It was there that he met and fell in love with his wife of four years, Tracy who subsequently gave birth to their son Christian. Murfreesboro, TN was also where Dex met Johnny Bandy who signed Dex to his newly formed record label, Mastarmind Records in 2004.

Now called Mastarmind Music Group and under the leadership of Johnny Bandy, Don George, Marvel Bandy, and Alton Daniels, both the label and Dex are excited about Dex's forthcoming freshman album. The album will feature tracks produced by nationally renowned musician and producer, Alton Gibson. Gibson is well known throughout the gospel industry for his mastery of the organ but has recently produced tracks for national recording artists Kendra Carr and Judah Generation. The album also has production from soul music pioneer Charles Hodges of the legendary Hodges Brothers who have worked with icons such as Al Green, Isaac Hayes, and Ike & Tina Turner. The majority of the tracks were produced the midwest's hottest new production duo, Carlos Woodard and Frank Hightower collectively known as Purple Ink. This Rockford, IL duo has helped Dex craft a new sound which is a hybrid of gospel and R&B. His new sound has been described as Rhythm & Praise (R&P). It borrows heavily from Hip Hop and R&B, but maintains a singular focus of praising and worshipping the Lord as in traditional gospel. The world will have an opportunity to hear a sample of this new sound when the album is released in early 2007 and when they do Dex is confident that he will be performing his purpose in life for a much larger audience.

Tyronn Williams & Fav'r-The Ministry

When referring to Tyronn Wilkins, it is evident that God has anointed and fortified such a vocalist to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to the believers and unbelievers.

Tyronn Wilkins (pronounced Ty-ron) was born and raised in Gaffney, South Carolina. It was here at the tender age of six years old that his love and admiration for gospel music developed while singing in his local church choir. Even then it was evident that this voice was a pure gift from God that was predestined to touch lives and penetrate the heart. During his childhood he expressed his musical gifts performing throughout area ministries in the Carolinas.

In 1992, Tyronn was introduced into the gospel recording sector with the Tri City Singers by multi-Stellar Award winning, songwriter and producer, Donald Lawrence. His seven year tenure with Donald Lawrence and the Tri City Singers afforded him the opportunity to gain and glean from some of Gospel Music's most notable ministers, singers, musicians and producers. Tyronn has accompanied and recorded with numerous artists during his career including; Stephanie Mills, Twinkie Clark, Donald Lawrence, Dorinda Clark-Cole, LeJuene Thompson, Karen Clark-Sheard and the list goes on. These experiences were clearly preparing him for the next dimension that God had ordained and purposed for his life.

Beginning in the year 2000, Tyronn was inclined by the Holy Spirit to begin his own music ministry entitled FAV'R. He recruited seven premiere vocalists from the east and west coasts to form unique blends and creative styles which has been greatly received and adored by music lovers throughout the United States. Tyronn Wilkins and FAV'R was blessed to have a live recording session of their debut project on October 14, 2004 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. This event brought out some of gospels heavy hitters such as Lashun Pace-Holmes, The Canton Spirituals and many more. All who witnessed this debut live recording session were touched, empowered and renewed by the experience. "Tyronn Wilkins and FAV'R is a music ministry that is definitely destined for greatness" says gospel mogul Dr. Bobby Jones. Currently released singles "Deserve" and the hit song "Better Day" from this recording are available and surfacing radio stations and media around the world. The complete project will be available at your local music stores in January, 2007. Production by Grammy, Stellar and Dove Awards nominated producer extraordinaire, Cedric Thompson.

Tyronn believes his ministry is a tool that will allow listeners to hear the word of GOD in music form and be able to denounce the works of the enemy and confess salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord with abundant living. (John 10:10)

Currently, Tyronn Wilkins also serves as the minister of music at the First Baptist Church of Roebuck in South Carolina and he is the proud father of two beautiful children; TyRece and TaNiah Wilkins.

Dathan Thigpen & Holy Nation was formed in the fall of 2003 by Dathan Thigpen. Fred Martin & The Levite Camp-Some Bridges

“Some bridges are falling down/Some bridges are still around.”

Singer-songwriter Jackson Browne wrote the first half of this couplet to describe the erosion of support and opportunity for the underprivileged in America’s inner cites.  The second part was inspired by the tireless efforts of Los Angeles music teacher, gospel-music expert and local treasure Fred Martin, who uses the power of song to offer his students a bridge to hope.

Martin selected his most gifted protégés (fronted by stellar lead vocalists Chavonne Morris and Alethea Mills) – to form the Levite Camp, a fiercely dedicated group named for one of the twelve tribes of Israel—the musician priests who were allowed to dwell in the temple.  They’ve backed up Browne, Ray Charles and the Neville Brothers, among others, on concert stages, Grammy performances and studio recordings including performing at a MusiCares tribute to Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson.

Now, in collaboration with Jackson Browne, Fred Martin & The Levite Camp have released their stunning debut album, Some Bridges.  Six of the album’s 10 tracks were written by Browne, who also provided lead vocals on two cuts and co-produced with Martin.

True to its title, the album is a bridge between gospel and secular pop, blues, jazz, soul and rock.  Spiritual and deeply humane, its songs are rooted in faith, compassion and dignity.  Embracing issues both domestic and foreign (such as on Browne’s “World In Motion,” and “Lives in the Balance” to which Martin has added a powerful and soul-searching last verse), celebrating the power of truth and dedication to social change (“About My Imagination”) and hearing your own conscience (“The Next Voice You Hear”), Some Bridges is a fiery testimonial to raising the voice and the consciousness.

Guests on the album include legendary trumpeter Hugh Masakela on “The Next Voice You Hear”; esteemed bluesman Keb’ Mo’, who joins a daring fusion of Robert Johnson’s definitive blues “Crossroads” with the gospel standard “Until I Found the Lord”; and L.A.’s Grammy-winning, genre-blending alternative groove collective, Ozomatli, who lend their funky chops an activist stature to “Lives in the Balance.”

In addition to vocals, Browne contributed guitar on several tracks; Martin played piano and organ. Also among the album’s gifted roster of players are percussionist Luis Conte, bassists Kevin McCormick and Alex Al, John Bilezikjian on the Oud, Neil Seigle on the Ney and guitarist Mark Goldenberg.   Sheven Morris, twin brother to Chavonne Morris, plays drums on the entire CD.

Martin and Browne have been friends for years, since Martin’s high school choir backed up Browne at benefit performances in the early ’90s.  The singer-songwriter offhandedly floated the idea of an album two years ago, and Martin threw himself into developing the project.  Indeed, he’d secured the interest of Concord Records before the album was finished being recorded.

These achievements are part of Martin’s relentless determination.  The Compton native, one of nine siblings, grew up in the ’70s; keenly aware of the escalating violence and drugs in his community, he sought another path.  He learned music on his own, devouring books on composition and theory and becoming a church organist.  Martin cites his parents for raising him in church, giving him his foundation and a strong faith in God which ultimately saved his life.  He also credits after-school programs sponsored by the Department of Parks and Recreation with keeping him off the streets and showing him a better way.

After graduating from high school, Martin taught at Lynwood High; he was later hired by the Los Angeles Unified School District for his musical expertise.  He went on to teach music at Hamilton High and other South Los Angeles schools, always believing that music – and gospel in particular – could be a key to rescuing city kids from the perils that encircled them.  It was in this role that Browne refers to his work as a precious surviving “bridge” of the social landscape.  In 2002 Martin founded the Urban Entertainment Institute a nonprofit designed to teach students music, dance and multiple aspects of the music business.

“These were kids hanging out on the streets because they had nowhere to go, nothing to do,” Martin says of his young charges, “and those are the kids who end up getting shot and killed.  The kids in the program are not hanging out, and in helping them develop these skills, we’re saving their lives.  We’re giving them a purpose and building up their self-esteem and self-respect.  We’re exposing them to a world they didn’t know exists.”

His various choirs performed with superstars like Stevie Wonder and Gladys Knight, at events such as the Independent Spirit Awards and Oscar after parties, in the film Under Siege II, on the series Mad TV and elsewhere.  Martin’s group dominated the House of Blues’ celebrated gospel brunch for four years straight.  Graduates of his program are regularly approached to sing with, play for, produce or otherwise assist top industry acts.
The institute has grown to national recognition and Martin plans to duplicate its success across the country.

Martin’s comprehensive instruction includes everything from music theory to the historical evolution of African-American song.  And it’s clear from Some Bridges that these lessons have not been lost on his pupils.  Indeed, the album frequently brings divergent musical traditions together.  On “World in Motion,” for example, the Levite choir offers a bit of Allen Toussaint’s, “Yes We Can Can” (popularized in the ’70s by the Pointer Sisters) as a stirring culmination to Browne’s call for social justice.  Elsewhere, jazz runs intertwine with funk shuffles, and delicate flute filigrees dance around scorching rock guitar.

But it’s Martin’s take on “Crossroads”—Robert Johnson’s seminal blues song, best known as a hit by Cream—that truly showcases his barrier-smashing ambition.  Beginning with the slinky bottleneck guitar of Keb’ Mo’, the track switches masterfully between Robert Johnson’s signature 12-bar blues and the spiritual “Until I Found the Lord,” escalating in intensity atop a roiling, organ-spiced groove until Johnson’s fateful meeting with Satan turns into a delirious revival meeting.  “What we’re saying is when we get to the crossroad, rather than choosing the Devil, we’re going to fall to our knees and ask the Lord for the right direction,” Martin declares.  “I’m going to pray and I’m going to cry and I’m going to moan until I find the right way to go.”

He adds that Thomas Dorsey, hailed as the father of gospel music, first brought the sounds of jazz and blues into the church – and ruffled some feathers in the process.  “What’s ironic,” he points out, “is that his music is now considered traditional gospel, but church people absolutely wouldn’t accept it back then.”

But Martin is far less concerned with what people in the church will accept than what the community can accomplish.  “God gave me the gift to work with young people and inspire kids to change their lives,” he reflects.  “The greatest reward is having a former student walk back through the doors of the classroom with a degree, a good job and success in their lives, the kind of success that money can't buy.”

With the ever-evolving Levite Camp, as with his other efforts, Martin continues to serve as the kind of bridge celebrated in Jackson Browne’s song – not only “still around,” but standing firm and always ready to point the way to a better destination.

The Levite Camp: Singers Chavonne Morris and Alethea Mills, co-lead vocalists; singers Loren Turner, Creshinda Johnson, De'Ante Duckett and Nava Dennis and musicians Sheven Morris, Luke Bucket, David Brimer, Kevin Moore Jr. and Robert Lewis.

Antwaun has been preparing and traveling down this inspirational music road ever since his Mother heard and recognized his vocal gift, at age three. Meka King-Count It All Joy

Meka King radiates with the love and the joy of the Lord.  Simply put, she is a true worshipper.  With an energetic, intense passion for His presence, Meka's gift sets an atmosphere for worship.  You can't experience her ministry and not get excited about entering into the presence of the King.

Hearing the voice of God as a child, Meka knew she was assigned to "reach the masses."  She became a television news writer and segment producer, thinking that "mass media" was her calling.  But the Lord soon proved His true purpose for her life.  As Meka made her transition into the music world, the Lord used Praise and Worship to propel her to another level.

Meka toured for nearly 2 years with International Praise and Worship Leader, Ron Kenoly.  As they traveled to the Nations, the Lord continued to develop and prepare her for the call and anointing that He'd placed on her life.  Meka soon discovered that something special happened when she sang.  The Lord used her to create an atmosphere for change in the lives of His people.  As people began to share their testimonies, Meka became sure of her calling to impact the Kingdom.

Meka later became a background vocalist for several other Contemporary Christian artists and ministries including Martha Munizzi, LaRue Steward, Clint Brown, the Kenoly Brothers, William McDowell and Al Denson.  Working with such great artists has given Meka a strong foundation for the ministry that God has entrusted to her.

The mandate for her debut release, Count It All Joy, came as the Lord walked her through this awesome testimony.  Standing on James 1:2-4, Meka realized that the adversity in her life was not arbitrary.  She found that the Lord purifies us during our trials so that when we emerge we are like gold- strong and valuable, precious and pure.  So now Meka is striving to "reach the masses" in the way that God actually intended.  She wants to allow the Lord to use her to evoke change in the lives of His people through music, outreach and true worship.  Meka's outreach ministry, KINGDOM Ministries, is working in the Central Florida community to impact lives and meet the physical needs of people in the area.  She knows it's necessary to minister to the total man and strives to do this through food and clothing drives, volunteering, counseling and contributions.

Most recently, Meka traveled with Rick Gage Ministries for Go Tell Crusades in the Southeastern region of the US.  The powerful team has directed hundreds to the Cross through praise music, compelling messages and amazing testimonies.  In addition, Meka is a performer at several Central Florida theme parks.  She is a singer for Cirque Du Soleil's La Nouba show in Orlando.  She is the Princess (Kibibi) in the Festival of the Lion King Show at Disney's Animal Kingdom.  Meka plays the Aretha Franklin character in the Blues Brother's Show at Universal Studios Florida.  She was also an ensemble character and featured singer at the Holy Land Experience, a Christian-themed park in Orlando.

Ernest Lee & Spirit of David-The Renaissance

What do you get when you cross a Gospel Soulchild, Accountant and multi-talented Detroit musician? Ernest J. Lee is his name....a name you are sure to remember. The industry calls him the next multi-format breakout artist, but he is just a small-town man from Romulus, Michigan whom God dropped in the Gospel Mecca of Motown to deliver a great musical message.

It was at the mere age of seven that Ernest first began to display an interest in music. He continued to gravitate toward organ and piano and was an ingénue in a special tutelage program under the legendary Elbernita "Twinkie" Clark of the Clark Sisters. Some of gospels' top artists are quick to describe his talent as very special and one who will redefine "contemporary gospel music".

Ernest is a highly sought after arranger and has become a masterful musical producer. His 2006 credits include co-writer of the brand new smash hit single from GospoCentric artist Dave Hollister entitled "What Do U Do?", and also the hot new Urban Choir anthems from Tyscot's Chris Jones & WOP entitled "Dance" and "Praise Him" respectively. He also penned and arranged, The Lord Is With Us In This Place, recorded by Fred Hammond & Radical For Christ featured appearances by Yolanda Adams, Hezekiah Walker, and Gary Oliver. Lee has performed as organist for many of the biggest names in Gospel music including Hammond and Ms. Adams. It is from these experiences that the public began to notice a quality in Lee's music that can only be described as outstanding.

Lee is truly a gifted songwriter who displays a unique style that combines gospel with street edged grooves-urban gospel. This style has attributed them a nomination for the 2002 Gospel Music Workshop of America's "Best New Artist/ Urban Contemporary" Award. Spirit of David has shared the stage with the who's who of gospel: Kirk Franklin, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Tonex, Ricky Dillard & New Generation, Karen Clark-Sheard and many others.

It was the year of 1996 that Lee handpicked a group of young, talented and dedicated vocalists to form Spirit of David. Unknown, but gifted and anointed with abundant talent, he unleashed his zeal for writing and arranging on this group of very special people. The results exploded into a power-packed, Holy Ghost filled ministry, which is Spirit of David. With 2 releases already under his belt, Encourage Yourself [2002] and New Psalms [2004], Lee has established himself as one of Gospel music's up and coming Leaders. Fast Forward to 2006 and there's a Renaissance coming! The groups' third project is just about ready for release on the Juana Records/Malaco imprint. "The Renaissance" is Lee's coming out party and it truly will be just that! It is a collection of Urban Praise and Worship as you've never heard before!

Will Bonds & IOP-Rejoice

Open a dictionary, look up the word “instrument” and you might see a definition like this: a device used to produce music; or one used by another as a means or aid.  Next, look up the word “praise” and you might read  it defined as a mechanism to express a favorable judgment of or to glorify (a god or saint) especially by the attribution of perfection.  Put the two words together – instrument and praise – add the name Willie Bonds to the meaning, now what definition do you get? The answer: a group of anointed vocalists and musicians being used by God to exalt His name, led by one of His gifted saints who honors Him through words and song. Hence: Willie Bonds & The Instruments of Praise.

Born in San Antonio, Texas, to a church percussionist father and a music minister mother, Willie Bonds’ gift and love of music was discovered at a very early age.  He started playing musical instruments when he was four, and throughout his childhood and teenage years, received training in the areas of drums, piano, violin, viola and upright bass.
Over the years, he received numerous musical awards and achievements, including an opportunity to play in the San Antonio Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. He continued serving at his home church, Childress Memorial Church of God in Christ, while his love for gospel music continued to grow.

Willie later began to write, arrange and produce his own music.  It was during this season in his life that God led him to organize The Instruments of Praise (IOP).  Formed in 1996, IOP was the vision of a then 23-year-old San Antonio, Texas Christian who strongly believed there was a void of integrity in the music ministry.

Willie Bonds linked 19 vocalists and 5 musicians – comprised of his cousins and close friends – to serve as a unified vessel to exemplify God’s hand of love and compassion through song, worship and praise. Willie Bonds Ministries is committed to being the type of servants in which God’s presence, through the Holy Spirit, could flow freely through their lives in a miraculous way to reach the saved and the unsaved alike.  In 1998, two years after ministering to San Antonio churches and at various regional events, Willie Bonds & The Instruments of Praise received a blessing from God – the release of their debut CD “Instruments of Praise”. With no distribution company or financial backing, they sold an estimated 5,000 units and received radio air play in several major markets including Los Angeles, St. Louis, Detroit and even Canada. That same year, the group received the San Antonio Music Award for “Group of the Year.” “God was definitely good to us, ” Willie says. God continued to reveal His grace in the coming years. In 1999, the group was nominated for the Black Achievement Award in San Antonio, and also began an extensive travel schedule including a trip to the Island of Trinidad.

In 2000, after purchasing a copy of “Instruments of Praise,” famed Kansas City Chief’s running back Priest Holmes sowed into the ministry and made a sizable financial contribution, which allowed the group the opportunity to minister to more of God’s people. The following year, Willie Bonds Ministries purchased a 4,000 square foot, state-of-the-art, recording studio. It was there at Rhapsody Street Studios, where the group’s CD was recorded. The full project has been released in stores nationwide.

In prayer anticipation of the release of their first project, Willie Bonds & The Instruments of Praise are taking time to reflect on the past 10 years and how God Almighty has delivered the ministry from a state of spiritual, musical infancy to maturity.  After years of sharing the stage with such gospel greats as Lamar Campbell, Kirk Franklin, Byron Cage and Keith Staten, the San Antonio-based minstrels are now ready to stand in their own spotlight of God to use their gifts of song to minister to souls.

Willie currently serves as the full-time Minister of Music at Family Life Christian Church, Pastor Alfred D. Blue pastor, in San Antonio. He and Pastor Blue are co-writing a book on the relationship of the pastor and minstrel entitled “Recovering the Lost Ark.”Willie and his wife, Kimmery, have one son, Brynton, and two daughters, Jordan and Autumn.

Izzy-In Awe of You

They call him the Urban Psalmist. His name is Israel Bell, a.k.a. IZZY. His life is replete with the drama of a Hollywood movie script. At the age of 28, he has already overcome a physical handicap, homelessness and clinical depression. But dont look for a tragic ending to this story. IZZY has taken control of destinys pen and is scripting a story of perseverance, determination and triumph! This singer, songwriter and producer is set to storm the gospel music industry with the Fred Hammond meets John Legend vibe of his upcoming debut album, In Awe Of You. A third generation preachers kid, IZZYs great-grandfather, Bishop Brumfield Johnson, founded the Mt. Calvary Holy Churches of America and his father is currently the Sr. Pastor of Peace Baptist Church in Washington, DC. Born with open sores and his hip popped out of joint, doctors held little hope of him leading a normal life. His parents were cautiously advised of the limits his disability would impose on his future. His birth name was chosen in honor of the biblical patriarch, who suffered from the same impairment after wrestling with God for a blessing. Like his namesake who overcame adversity, IZZY, too, would defy the odds. He not only learned to walk without a limp, he was even able to run track and play football! His father, an army sergeant, was assigned to Germany when IZZY was three years old. His formative yearsboth developmentally and musicallywere spent in Heidelberg and Manheim. Despite enjoying an idyllic and stable home life, young IZZY simply did not fit in with his peers. While other boys his age enjoyed video games and sports, he preferred passing time in the library listening to classical music. His differences made him the target of endless taunts. Eventually discouraged by his inability to connect with his peers, he suffered from depression and even attempted suicide in his preteens. Empowered by his music, he persevered. Through music, I realized there was so much more to live forI saw myself singing in front of crowds. And that thought kept me going. In a fifth grade career project, he boldly proclaimed himself to be the next Quincy Jones. At the time, the only thing I could do was sing, but I told everyone that one day I would put the mic down and produce music. IZZYs natural musical gifts belie his lack of extensive formal training. He began playing the saxophone at the age of twelve and immediately integrated the then popular sounds of techno and house into his style. In 1991, when his family returned to the United States and moved to the DC area, he added the spicy sounds of funk and go-go to his already eclectic musical flavor. Following a failed stint in college, IZZY enrolled in the US army where he was first introduced to the basics of record engineering and he later obtained his degree in the subject at a technical college. During his early years of ministry in DC, he was a member of the gospel group Psalms, along with his older brother and a friend, Durrell Babbs (a.k.a. R&B sensation, Tank). In 2005, he was a featured artist at Bishop T.D. Jakes MegaFest Mega Youth Experience. His television appearances include: BETs Bobby Jones Gospel and Lift Every Voice and hes recently been featured in Jawns Juicethe Gospel must-read column. In Awe Of You is IZZYs musical memoir told through a melodious symphony of swinging beats, hypnotic hooks, crooning harmonies and strikingly transparent lyrics. The title cut is a harmonious worship experience whose power and beauty lies in his simple, yet powerful delivery. You Are and Praise Party are downright infectious, with their feel good energy and funky rhythms. His urban infused covers of Heaven (BeBe & CeCe Winans) and Love You Forever (Fred Hammond) are equally impressive. Clearly undaunted by the task of ministering these gospel favorites, he masterfully connects with the music and in doing so makes them his own. IZZY hopes to reach those who feel forgotten by the church and society. This hope is reflected in the track We Need Youa soothing, yet thoughtful commentary on the heartbreak and disillusionment that can lead to the street life. An eclectic mix of soulful ballads and urban rockers, In Awe Of You challenges the boundaries of traditional Gospel music but most importantly, it challenges the listener to stand in awe of the God of eternal hope and infinite possibility.

Dennis Reed & GAP-Water Walker

Water Walker, a Dream Come True. Who ever said that most men in their early twenties lack direction, motivation and desire have not met Dennis Reed, Jr. He is the anointed multitalented founder of the gospel group, God's Appointed People (GAP), who released their first CD, "Water Walker", in August 2005.

"Water Walker" is a dream come true for Reed because the group tried to do it years ago but it never came together for them. "But this time God gave the orders and now they are just walking in it," he said. He went on to say that he didn't want to be put in a box just as another gospel artist, but he wants his music to cross all boundaries. "Just like God my music is multi-racial, multi-cultural with one main purpose and that is to lead the lost to Christ." Reed explains that GAP is a very special part of him. "The ministry of GAP is my baby but it wouldn't be possible had not God sent me people who believed in the vision. The people of GAP are not just talented singers they are my best friends. They stick with me through thick and thin. We hang out on a regular basis and I feel this is important even for the ministry portion of the group." This family friendly group sang with much skill on the upcoming release "Water Walker." Not only was Reed an extremely talented vocalist on this CD, but he also produced, arranged vocals, played the piano and wrote all the songs.

Reed is no newcomer to the gospel music scene. This 20 year old has shared the stage with and/or worked for some of the gospel music leading recording artist such as LaShun Pace, Donald Lawrence, The Murills, Tamela Mann, John P. Kee, Smokie Norful, Ted and Sheri, Lucinda Moore, Patrick Love, Christopher Brinson, Christopher Gray, Ricky Dillard and Shirley Caesar. Music has always been apart of Reed's life. Even as a toddler, Reed was exposed to Gospel Music as both his parents would go to midnight rehearsals for Greg Hoover and The Charlotte Community Singers. "I would jump on the back pew of the church with the other kids and they would pretend to play the drums or piano while I would pretend to direct the choir. Funny thing is, most of those same little kids are now pursuing music careers." When asked who was the most influential musically on his life Reed applied "My God-father Ron Gilliam, taught me everything I know about directing a choir. He is the only musician that gave me a chance even at an early age to play the piano for his choir. All the other big shot musicians didn't give me the time of day as my mom called around desperately searching for a piano teacher, but he gave me a chance." Pastor Ron Gilliam is featured on the CD singing "Seasons." Reed says that this song is his testimony. "It's been hard, the roads been rough; I wanted to give up when the going got tough. Those lyrics are my life. So many times it seemed like every door was shut in my face. I looked around and it seemed like those who did wrong always were prospering but God said press on." Reed feels that he is no longer waiting on his season; it has arrived.

Reed accounts much of his writing style to the much beloved producer Donald Lawrence. "His vocal arrangements are out of this world. I really have taken a lot of time studying his phrasing and song form." says Reed. Reed's group GAP had the pleasure of working with Lawrence in a concert for the survivors of Hurricane Katrina. The late Thomas Whitfield has also influenced Reed's writing. "Thomas Whitfield is without a doubt the maestro of Gospel Music. I remember about 9 years ago going to the music store and asking about a Whitfield record and being looked at in amazement that I would know who he was. Listening to his chord progressions changed my world forever." Reed also says Kirk Franklin's songs have helped to influence his writing in a special way.

A rising senior at Catawba College in Salisbury, NC, this honor student organized the school's first multiracial gospel choir, named One Voice. "My dad actually forced me to go to college because I was convinced that I was through with school, but after arriving on campus, I knew this was an opportunity for me to grow and mature," says Reed. Campus life has allowed him even more time to reflect on his ministry GAP. Many songs are inspired at college says Reed. "I lock myself in the practice room and wait for God to speak. This is my saving grace. This is how I don't get caught up in all the other things that college life is kown for," he said. He also wrote a song for the John Lennon Scholarship and was chosen as the North Carolina state finalist.

Inspire the Fire is a youth and fellowship conference that Reed founded while working as the music director at a local church. Inspire the Fire hosts over 150 Charlotte area youth each year incorporating the arts to saved troubled youth from the streets. "I feel that our churches aren't doing enough for my peers. This conference serves as an outlet for young people to be themselves, have fun, and learn about Christ." Inspire the Fire Youth-N-Fellowship Arts Conference is an effective outreach ministry that Reed incorporates into his shows with GAP and invites any and all young people to participate.

The CD "Water Walker" is a dream come true for Reed. When asked 'what a Water Walker is' Reed replied "You, I, we are all Water Walkers. Anybody crazy enough to believe God and step out on His promise though things look bleak is a Water Walker." Reed shares that his favorite songs are "Out of Control" and "Necessary." "Out of Control is my jam. It simply is letting the world know that I am a weapon of mass destruction. And I like singing in the sky, so at the end of the song I get really excited when the group sings about a change happening." "Necessary" is a ballad that speaks to issues of abortion, drug use, and even disobedience to God. "What people must know is that we all make mistakes but when we come to God he uses our past to shape us into who we are now. This is not a free token to sin and do whatever we want, but it should serve as comfort to those who feel guilty for their mistakes." Dennis Reed and GAP continue their ministry as they sing under the anointing on 16 tracks featured on the project Water Walker.

The highly anticipated release of Water Walker proves that through Christ all things are possible. Now Reed and his team of friends are ready to spread the message of love to the world representing a true testament of faith.

Shei Atkins-The Lita Mae Show
Shei Atkins, the Grammy nominated dynamic and talented R&B Hip Hop diva, started her career with Destiny's Child Co-Founder Ann Tillman. Under Tillman, Shei developed her chops performing often and soon received a huge break singing on Houston, TX based rapper, Lil O's MCA debut album. Ironically, Lil' O was managed by Matthew Knowles, manager and the other co-founder of Destiny's Child. Soon there after, Shei took a sabbatical to re-think her life and her musical career. She knew she had the talent but she wanted to do something different than what she was currently hearing on the radio. Shei felt that her music was meant to reach people deep inside their souls with songs that can relate to day-to-day life. After the time off, Shei reconfigured her music to better fit her new way of thinking as well as her new lifestyle. She knew although, that her beats still had to come correct as well as her lyrics in order reach the masses with her message of hope in everyday situations. As God would have it, she would meet up again via her husband / producer Drathoven, the producer of the Lil' O track Crazy C. The hit maker who had produced and re-mixed for several acts including OutKast, Goodie Mob, Jodeci, Scarface, Geto Boys and others, recalls the first time working with her and how he was amazed at such a mature voice coming from a then teen aged girl, as she was being directed by the now superstar Beyonce' Knowles. Crazy C. had just founded a label called Soulmuzick with friend Madd Hatter of Kbxx radio, which led to meeting the young and upcoming producer Drathoven, who would reintroduce him to his wife Shei.

Being married at the young age of 19 gives her credibility to talk about relationships, hardships, God and all the things that have occurred in her life up to her current age of 23.After a couple of meetings and demos, Shei was immediately signed to SoulMuzick Recordings and released her first CD in 2004 called " Life in Stereo". Shei builds on that success with the upcoming release of her new CD "The Lita Mae Show" which showcases her growth, strength and spirituality. Shei has also won numerous awards including best new artist at the 2005 UGA awards show in Los Angeles and (2) two 2005 THHHAA awards for disc of the year and female artist of the year. Shei has a new sound that will definitely stand out among today's cookie cutter crop of talent and she aims to fill their souls with hot music that brings life.

Grammy nominated Houston songstress Shei Atkins returns with her 2nd CD and this time she matures her sound and offers insight into her personal life, thoughts and spirituality. This CD is filled with top notch production and song writing and features fellow H-town Homie Paul Wall on the rmx of "Quit Bumpin" as well as the writing talents of "Tabu" who co-wrote on Whitney Houston's last album. This album has received critical acclaim from PD's and DJ's alike. The album is again executive produced by Hit making producer / re-mixer Crazy C. and top rated Houston DJ, Tha Madd Hatter of 97.9 fm The Box. Be sure to cop this CD as it is sure to please her current fans and garner new ones!
