Lecrae Rebel No. 1 Gospel Album in the Country

The highly anticipated album from Lecrae is now the No. 1 Gospel album in the country according to Billboard's Top Gospel charts thus replacing Marvin Sapp's certified Gold "Thirst" album. The Reach Records recording artist and Dove Award Nominee released his junior album, "Rebel," on Sept 30 and immediately appeared on iTunes's Top Rap/Hip Hop Album chart in the No. 3 position just below T.I.'s "Paper Trail." "Rebel" also claimed CMTA's No. 1 position on the Top Hip Hop/R&B Album chart as well as the No. 2 position on Billboard's Top Christian & Gospel Album chart.

Breaking his own record with multiple sales chart appearances, "Rebel" is now the highest debuting album in the Christian Rap industry, and Lecrae is proof that the ministry of Christ-centered Gospel Rap is truly a form of music that we should all pay close attention to. President of ReachLife Ministries, Lecrae is most recognized for hit singles 'Jesus Muzik' and 'Prayin For You' from his groundbreaking sophomore CD, "After The Music Stops." Even after releasing in 2006 with a debut in the No. 5 position on Billboard charts, the album continues to appear on the Top Christian Rap/R&B charts and sits currently at the No. 3 position.

Redefining a worldview depiction of a person who is resistant in their ways, Lecrae presents the characteristics of a rebel as one who is now rebellious towards the passive approach to an undedicated lifestyle. Through personal testimony and powerful messages, "Rebel" provides a greater understanding for its listeners to channel their passion towards an unashamed life for God.

Standing firm on Romans 1:16, Lecrae just completed the 25-City International 'Unashamed Tour' with labelmates Tedashii, Sho Baraka, and Trip Lee. With a mission to spread the gospel by calling each location to live an unashamed life for the Lord, the tour kicked off in Lecrae's home state of Texas and concluded in Australia. The first artist to sign with Memphis-based Reach Records, while maintaining a lofty tour schedule, the University of North Texas graduate continues to serve and disciple at his local church.

Lecrae's "Rebel" is distributed to the CBA market and Wal-Mart stores Infinity Distribution and made available at Wal-Mart by Central South.

(Erica's husband, Warryn Campbell also helmed the first two Mary Mary albums, the RIAA gold- and platinum-certified Thankful and the RIAA gold-certified Incredible.)

As Mary Mary, Erica and Tina Campbell bring a revolutionary combination of R&B, urban, hip-hop and electronica to the world of contemporary Christian music.

Growing up in Inglewood, California, the sisters first sang publicly in the local church choir and received their first break in 1998, performing a song on the soundtrack for the “Prince of Egypt.”

In 2000, Mary Mary’s platinum debut album, Thankful --featuring the hit “Shackles (Praise You)”--earned numerous awards including a Grammy for Best Contemporary Gospel Album and three Dove Awards, six Stellar Awards, a Lady of Soul Award and a Soul Train Award. Incredible, their second album, became the nation’s No. 1 Top Christian Album in 2002 and featured the Dove Award-winning hits “In The Morning” and “Thank You,” featuring Kirk Franklin.

Margaret “Babe” Allison was born September 25, 1922 in McCormick South Carolina and is world known for her work as the co-founder, singer, pianist, composer, arranger, producer, and director of the legendary Angelic Gospel Singers. Allison passed away leaving a legacy behind her that has inspired generations. Two memorial services will be held in her honor.

(East Coast)

August 9th @ The North American Motor Lodge 4444 Cityline Ave. Philadelphia , PA 19131 – 11:00 AM

Allison's career in gospel music began with a group called the Spiritual Echoes, but a dream led her to form her own female quartet which was dubbed The Angelic Gospel Singers (also referred to as The Angelics). In 1944, Allison co-founded the group with her sister Josephine McDowell and two members of the Spiritual Echoes, Ella Mae Morris and Lucille Shird.

After several years of successful touring in the regions of the south and east, the group decided to pursue a recording contract. Philadelphia record executive Ivan Ballen of Gotham Records employed an open door policy to local artists. This encouraged the Angelics to audition and they were signed immediately. Shortly after, they recorded their first single, “Touch Me Lord Jesus,” which became a signature hit for the group and remains a classic gospel piece to this day.

The group recorded twenty-five singles on Gotham Records in six years. The quartet eventually added organ and a fifth voice, Bernice Cole. Joining with the Dixie Hummingbirds for six songs in the 1950s benefited both groups, helping to solidify and expand both careers. In 1955, the group signed to Nashboro records, remaking their signature song, “Touch Me, Lord Jesus.” They remained with the label for twenty seven years.

In 1983, the group made their final record label move to Malaco Records, where they have released eleven projects to date, including their May 2008 release, “Touch Me Again”, a follow up to their first recording in 1949, “Touch Me, Lord Jesus”. In 2001, Allison was nominated for a Stellar Award for Traditional Female Vocalist of the Year for her work on Home in the Rock (Malaco Records) and in 2006; she received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the En Sound Music Awards in Nashville for her contributions to gospel music.

Margaret “Babe” Allison has earned recognition as the longest selling female artists in history on any genre. Allison's inspiration to pursue a singing career in gospel music has inspired many and she has mentored numerous young groups and solo artists over the years. Her smile coupled with her hopeful, kind demeanor has contributed to encouraging many in their journey.

The Angelics have shared the stage and studio with numerous gospel artists including: Mahalia Jackson, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, The Soul Stirrers, The Jackson Southernaires, Willie Banks and The Messengers, The Brooklyn Allstars, Slim and The Supreme Angels, The Swanee Quintet, The Davis Sisters, Evangelist Shirley Caesar, and The Sensational Nightingales.

“Margaret Allison has not only been with Malaco Records for a long time, but her music has been in the world for sixty four years. She was a dedicated and talented artist and a gracious woman. We will miss her dearly and wish her family and The Angelics our best,” comments Tommy Couch Sr, President of the Malaco Music Group.

Columbia Records Announces "Standout" The New Spirit-Filled Live Album From Tye Tribbett!

Columbia Records will release StandOUT, the much anticipated new album from the contemporary gospel singer, songwriter, and performer Tye Tribbett and his gospel choir and musical ensemble, G.A. (Greater Anointing), on Tuesday, May 6. StandOUT is the first new full-length album from Tye Tribbett and G.A. since the groundbreaking gospel artist's Victory Live! entered the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart at #1, shortly following its release in May 2006. A DVD edition of Victory Live! has sold more than 40,000 copies.

A crossover success featuring the #1 Gospel Radio single, "Victory," Victory Live! hit #64 on the Billboard Top 200 best-selling albums chart while earning Tribbett two Stellar Awards and three Grammy nominations -- Best Gospel Performance ("Victory"); Best Gospel Song ("Victory"); and Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album.

Recorded live at Rock Church International in Virginia Beach on August 17, 2007, StandOUT premieres a group of new musical testimonies to the Power of the Word and the Glory of the Holy Spirit, each written or co-written by Tye Tribbett: "Stand Out," "Hold On," "Look Up," "I Need You," "Prodigal Son," "All Hail The King," "Hallelujah," "Let Us Worship," "So Amazing," "He Has Made Me Glad," "I Made It Through," "Chasing After You," and "Well Done." As an added blessing for Tribbett fans, StandOUT includes the hidden bonus track, the single "Good In The Hood."

Tye Tribbett, a co-host, along with Kirk Franklin and Mary Mary, at the 22nd Annual Stellar Awards ceremony, and G.A. have performed with a variety of pop and gospel superstars ranging from Justin Timberlake and Faith Hill to Mary J. Blige, Donnie McClurkin, Kim Burrell and Israel Houghton.

Tye Tribbett sponsored his second annual youth conference earlier this year in the Poconos, with more than 1,000 attending. He will be performing at this year's Essence Festival in New Orleans.

Born in Camden, New Jersey, Tye Tribbett is the son of two preachers…both his mother and father wore the cloth…and Tye himself, a loving husband and father of two daughters, has responded to the Call, going on to minister through his music and the Living Word. Growing up surrounded by hymns and gospel music, Tye learned to make music at an early age. "I've been playing all my life," he explains. "Before I knew my ABC's, I knew the ABC's on the keys." As a teenager, he honed his skills as a keyboardist by accompanying such regional notables as Steve Middleton, the late James Viner and the Tri-State Mass Choir of the Edwin Hawkins Music & Arts Seminar.

In 1996, Tye founded a gospel choir, Greater Anointing (G.A.), consisting of a group of family and friends whose hearts were set simply on praising the Creator through the gift of great music. Tye knew from the beginning they'd tapped into something real and glorious. "That first rehearsal blew my mind," he says. "The musicianship, the quality of the voices and the spirit of the choir, the character of everybody…I knew that this was it. I knew that this is what I was supposed to be doing."

Dorinda Clark-Cole Releases Third Solo CD “Take It Back” In Stores April 15, 2008!

New York, NY – In the Clark Sister tradition of creating musical wonderment that celebrates life and brings a smile to anyone within hearing distance, Dorinda Clark-Cole’s incomparable vocal flair has wowed Gospel music lovers for more than 25 years – both as a solo artist and as part of The Clark Sisters - one of Gospel music’s most exciting groups. Her third solo album, TAKE IT BACK, comes on the heels of the phenomenal Clark Sisters CD “Live – One Last Time,” which landed the group its first three Grammy Awards as well as their first performance since 1985 on the seminal award show.

In stores April 15, TAKE IT BACK was co-written by Dorinda Clark-Cole with production by Asaph Ward and PAJAM. The disc features powerful songs of triumph, hope and encouragement with musical styles that run the gamut from neo-soul and jazz to the foot-stomping, make-you-want-to-get-up-and-dance traditional gospel for which Dorinda Clark-Cole is known.

The exuberant first single, also the title track, is currently heating up at radio. It was the highest debut its first week on the gospel radio charts and is now, five short weeks later, poised to break the Top-10. The track has been #1 Most Added and #1 Most Increased Airplay numerous times already. “Take It Back” is more than a song; it is Dorinda Clark-Cole’s theme for this year. “I’m taking back everything that the enemy has stolen from me over the last three years,” says Clark-Cole. “He tried to take my dreams…he tried to take the next generation…he tried to kill my daughter! I’m going to take it back and I want people to know that’s what they need to do, and can do!”

Also included on TAKE IT BACK is the beautiful, restorative “Yesterday;” a song Clark-Cole says is very dear to her heart. “‘Yesterday” is saying that the things that happened yesterday are no more…so now I work towards my future and I can go on. It’s about knowing that today wouldn’t have been if it weren’t for yesterday.” A new twist on the gospel classic “Got To Hold On” is a sure favorite; “It’s Okay;” a mellow, soulful track features her daughter Nicole and her niece Kierra “KiKi” Sheard ; and “Praise Your Way Out” was birthed out of a recent message she preached, declaring “if you can praise your way through it, He will bring you out of it.”

“This CD speaks to anything that you are going though or have experienced,” says Clark-Cole. “I want people to know that when you go through a situation, don’t get stuck. Don’t even look at the situation, it’s just temporary. I want people to not give up and just know they can get through any circumstance.”

Tyscot Founder Celebrates 30 Years with New CD!

What started in 1976 has become legendary status now for Bishop Leonard Scott; his label Tyscot is the oldest African-American owned Gospel Record Label in the nation.

Now the founder returns to his roots and releases a new 14-track CD and DVD “BE LIFTED UP” - Tuesday, April 15th in stores and online everywhere. BE LIFTED UP features stalwarts Darwin Hobbs (“Bow My Spirit”) Dove Award–winning Christian artist Rachel Lampa (“You Are My Source”), The Calvary Temple Praise Choir and more. This album comes on the heels of the 2006 “Hymns for the Nation and Hymns and Church Songs Live from Alabama” CD/DVD releases.

As a worship leader, he chose the title Be Lifted Up for obvious reasons.  “The title cut, which is upbeat, is a song that’s based on the Scripture where Jesus says, ‘If I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me.’  In the midst of what we do, trying to save souls, we need to lift Him up, because that’s the way they are going to be drawn,” admonishes Bishop Scott. Other tracks include the skyrocketing up-tempo “Mighty God”,  a powerful rock ballad “Lord You Reign”, the joyous “You Will Keep In Peace”, the beautifully structured “I’ll Pray For You” and more.

He pulls his guitar out to provide those classic strokes on the album and while featuring R&B/urban Gospel artist DARWIN HOBBS and contemporary Christian artist RACHEL LAMPA, he does not alienate his fan base. BE LIFTED UP quenches the thirst of Bishop’s hymnal fans with the “Closer Medley” which includes “In Your Presence,” “Close To Thee,” “Closer Lord To Thee” and “I Am Thine O Lord (Draw Me Nearer).”

Having a life-changing experience is the goal of “Be Lifted Up”.  Bishop Scott wrote many of the songs on the release, which was produced by Tracy Williamson – Tyscot Records former label director.

For the press, Tyscot Records has included a special media-friendly electronic press kit CD in the CD/DVD package containing many photos from the recording session, interviews, behind-the-scenes segments and many more never-before-seen or heard items to wet the appetite and feed the fans with lots of tidbit information about this project, Bishop Leonard Scott, Darwin Hobbs, Rachel Lampa and much, much more.

Bishop Leonard Scott has written and recorded with DEITRICK HADDON, REV. JOHN P. KEE, BROOKLYN TABERNACLE, ISRAEL HOUGHTON, GARY OLVER, MORRIS CHAPMAN, ALBERTINA WALKER, DEANDRE PATTERSON, VASHAWN MITCHELL and many more.

A father, grandfather, CEO and more, Bishop Scott balances ministry, music and his other occupation as a Dentist just by staying Christ-centered and focused. www.tyscot.com

She plays with a power and passion that draws in the listener, engages their spirit, pulling them into a spontaneous reaction of participation and celebration.

In fulfilling the vision of her youth, Angella Christie, Founder/CEO of Angella Christie Sound Ministries (ACSM) and ACSM Music, has established a reputation as gospel’s premiere saxophonist over the past twenty-one years. Not wavering she has continued to convey a clear message of the gospel through speaking and playing instrumental gospel music. Angella has literally performed throughout the United States and in Japan, Uganda, South Africa, Nigeria, Germany, London, Bermuda and the Caribbean Islands making her the first female internationally acclaimed gospel saxophonist in the world. By means of television (Day Star, TBN, BET, The Word Network and others) her performances have been seen
in over 238 nations.

As Executive Producer, Angella’s business acumen continues to propel her to the forefront of the gospel industry.
In the keeping of good company, Angella partnered with Taseis Media Group, which provides ACSM worldwide mainstream and CBA distribution by way of Ryko Distribution and Word Distribution (both of which are Warner Music Group companies) giving ACSM the best opportunity for continued growth and expansion.

The Breath of Life embodies a collection of eclectic grooves. Angella steps out the box displaying her ability to incorporate various influential styles of music into her undeniable gospel instrumental themes including ballads, R&B, Pop, Jazz, Fusion and still nails the gospel sermonic solo style she’s known for. She puts her spin on several popular covers tunes such as Bynum’s Like The Dew that entreats the presence of the Lord with the edgy rock hook “rest on me!” Richard Smallwood’s’ Total Praise has a surprise majestic ending that leaves your spirit soaring breathlessly. Smokie Norful’s classic I Need You Now, already a beautiful ballad, is taken to a higher state of brilliance! Martha Munizzi’s Because of Who You Are showcases a nice slow pop feel that builds to a climatic pinnacle and lands in a smooth worship zone. The Williams Brother’s Still Here, with its R&B vibe, evokes a self-encouragement outlook
of making it through another day and being unstoppable and Come This Far by Faith declares an unabated steadfastness. Original material is also included to complete this smorgasbord collection; The Breath of Life has something for everyone!

Affectionately known as “the girl that plays with her shoes off!” Angella Christie gives us a project that inspires, uplifts, encourages and motives. The intoxicating melodies are euphoric. The sultry background vocals are rapturous and the maturity of Angella’s surreal performance, coupled with the immaculate production makes The Breath of Life a must have masterpiece for your music collection.

Troy Sneed’s Group, Bonafide Praisers New CD Debuts in Top 30 on Billboard Gospel Album Sales Chart!

Troy Sneed’s Latest Vocal Creation-Bonafide Praisers New CD “Destined To Worship”. Debuts in the Top 30 on Billboard Gospel Album Sales Chart

Hailed as one of the Top producers of the Year for the last two years, Troy Sneed, who was integrally involved in creating the music on Whitney Houston’s double-platinum “Preacher’s Wife” soundtrack, continues to rack up hits for his Emtro Gospel label. His latest ensemble, Bonafide Praisers, has debuted at #27 on Billboard magazine’s gospel album sales chart with their new CD “Destined to Worship.”

His own “Hallelujah”, Bishop Bruce Parham’s “Call Jesus” and Alvin Darling’s “Nobody But the Lord” have all been Top Ten Billboard gospel radio smashes within the last year and now Sneed’s new vocal ensemble, Bonafide Praisers, are threatening to take their debut single all the way to the Top Ten as well. The single “Work it Out”  is continuing to build and has inched from #18 last week to #15 with a bullet this week on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart.

After realizing the impact of another Emtro Gospel act Youth for Christ’s “The Struggle is Over” (#1 on Billboard for 12 weeks) had on the nation through the outpouring of emails and phone calls of people testifying about how the song touched their hearts, Sneed asked God to give him a song to further encourage people and “Work it Out” is the result. “In today’s times gospel music needs to speak to people where they are,” Sneed says.

Similar in concept to Emtro Gospel’s Youth For Christ ensemble, Bonafide Praisers is a musical concept ensemble of local singers gathered in Jacksonville, Florida. However, Sneed’s vision is to go to a different city each year in search of true Bonafide Praisers and record new music with them. Sneed says, “The response has already been incredible. Of course, I want success for the projects but at the end of the day, I want God’s people to be healed through the power of praise.”

Visit www.emtro.com for further information on other Emtro Gospel projects. Emtro Gospel products are distributed by Warner Music Group Ryko Distribution (mainstream) and Word Distribution for the CBA in association with Taseis Media Group.

Euclid Gray’s “Unleashed” In Stores Now!

Euclid Gray, formerly of the R. Kelly’s platinum R&B Public Announcement and known to millions as Rev. Henry Oliver in Tyler Perry’s hit play and DVD release “Meet The Brown’s,” made his debut Malaco release and transition into the Gospel arena with a fan favorite, Urban Inspirational release “Father Guide Me” in 2006. His accomplishments up to this point afforded Euclid instant face recognition with the Gospel and mainstream audiences; however his 2nd Malaco release, “Unleashed” just may categorize all those accomplishments as simply humble beginnings.

“Unleashed” is the first of the 8 for 8 product line to be released from Malaco Records. That’s right 8 songs for $8.

Euclid Gray’s “Unleashed” contains eight (8) hyped, powerful, hand clapping, foot stomping tracks that will make you want to get up and dance whether you are in the pews, in the clubs, your home, office or car. The tracks range from “Let Me Praise Him”, a feel good, up-tempo, swing out, big band flavor dance track to “Ain’t Goin’ Get Mine,” a funky rock Michael Jacksonesque track to “You Must Go” a Dance Hall / Hip Hop Reggae track to a Euro House/ Dance remix of “Ghetto Gospel Man” House/ Dance taken from the “Father Guide Me” CD. “Unleashed” is clean, fun, inspiring music for the whole family to enjoy. Consumers will experience the thrill ride of a lifetime.

The title track and single “Let Me Praise Him” was test marketed in Buffalo, NY and not only did it become the most requested song on the BDS station, it rose to the top of the station’s play list in a matter of a few weeks and eventually knocked Kirk Franklin’s “Declaration” single out of the number one spot; Here is what Dwayne Cumberlander, Program Director, WUFO Buffalo had to say, "Clap your hands, stomp your feet, "Let Me Praise Him" isa refreshingly energetic song thathasbeen needed. More than just gospel radio will love this song! “Our phone lines ring off the hook. “Let Me Praise Him” is audience favorite of all ages!”

Elroy R. C. Smith, Operations Manager for Radio One’s FM properties in Philadelphia, PA states, “Let Me Praise Him” by Euclid Gray is refreshing. The energy, the beat and the message brings a good feel to my radio station. This song is infectious and we at PRAISE 103.9 PHILLY were the first to bring this song to light in the Philadelphia metropolitan area!”

If this is any indication as to how well “Let Me Praise Him” will perform nationally, at this price point, Euclid Gray’s “Unleashed” will very well become the top selling big surprise hit of 2008!

Kirk Franklin Returns with "The Fight of My Life" December 18th!

New York, NY - Fo Yo Soul Entertainment/Zomba Gospel recording artist KIRK FRANKLIN, the top-selling Contemporary Gospel artist in Soundscan history, will add another tour de force to his vast discography with the forthcoming release of his seventh CD, THE FIGHT OF MY LIFE.  Franklin, who is credited with revolutionizing gospel music, will release this exceptional collection of all new material on December 18.

Franklin says of the CD, "Carol and Michael are fighting for their marriage. Deborah is fighting to keep from losing her mind.  Jeff is fighting to keep his home.  David is fighting for his faith.  Welcome to THE FIGHT OF MY LIFE."

The first single from the album, "Declaration (This Is It!)," is an upbeat and encouraging song that re-interprets the smooth-groove classic hit, "This Is It," co-written by Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald, by addressing survival through the everyday trials and tribulations through a positive declaration of one's purpose in life.  "This song is a statement that 'serves notice' on unnecessary frustrations, relationships and circumstances that continue to attack our life," says Franklin. "Unlike the children of Israel who wandered in the wilderness, when we totally surrender to God, what took 40 years, God 'can' fix in 40 minutes."  Declaration (This Is It!) is currently #1 most added and #1 most increased airplay at Gospel radio, and is also impacting urban radio.

Sure to become another classic anthem, the lyrics express what many feel in today's uncertain world.  "There've been times in my life, I've been wondering why - but, still somehow I believe, we always survive."  The song - a cheer of sorts - builds with an accompanying, hand-clapping groove to suggest strength can be found through positive declaration, God's grace and prayer:  "This is it - you can't mess with my mind anymore, I've sworn I've been here before - it's a new day, I'm not afraid anymore - yes, I believe if you believe."

"Kirk Franklin is one of those rare artists whose music instantly strikes a chord with the human spirit," says Jazzy Jordan, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Zomba Gospel. "On 'Declaration (This Is It!),' he again demonstrates a unique ability to articulate through song sentiments that resonate with people from all walks of life. This single is surely going to be another hit for Kirk Franklin, setting the tone for yet another incredible body of work."

After more than 15 years as the top-selling, multiple Grammy award-winning contemporary gospel artist, Kirk Franklin continually demonstrates that he is more than just an artist - he is a voice and a musical balm for his generation.  THE FIGHT OF MY LIFE is another display of the genius fusion of his positive message and urban beats that have made him a mainstay atop Billboard charts for more than a decade.

THE FIGHT OF MY LIFE takes the listener on a spirit-filled journey from the soaring "Help Me Believe," a letter set to music that speaks for those who may be doubting their own faith but are looking to God for re-confirmation and strength; to the more traditional, tambourine-shakin', foot-tappin', "He Will Supply" that will surely become a musical staple every choir will want to sing come Sunday morning service.  Another standout track is "Jesus," a hip cheerful ode that simply celebrates Kirk's love of the Almighty.

As the music industry struggles to remain connected to fans that are weary of microwave stars, Kirk Franklin has remained a favorite and is applauded for being innovative, relevant and authentic. The heart of who he is and his personal story struck a resounding chord with his fans years ago and they have remained loyal ever since.  As he achieved more success, Franklin has remained connected to his audience through music that speaks frankly to life's issues and struggles, while always offering a chord of hope and optimism.

"We're very excited about the release of THE FIGHT OF MY LIFE," says Carla Williams, Vice President and General Manager of FoYo Soul Entertainment. "It is right in step, we believe, with what God is saying to encourage His people in song through Kirk; I know I'm biased, but to me it's a music masterpiece and we cannot wait to share with our loyal friends (fans) in the days to come."

His latest CD, HERO is RIAA-certified platinum and he has seven additional RIAA-certified gold, platinum and multi-platinum selling releases to date.  The musical trendsetter has garnered 5 GRAMMY® Awards, 11 Doves, 34 Stellars, 4 NAACP Image Awards, two BET Award and a 2006 American Music Award to date.

Gospel Television Pioneer Bobby Jones’ New CD THE AMBASSADOR In Stores November 20, 2007!

New York, NY – Gospel industry superstar and television icon Bobby Jones has paved the way for countless artists and contributed to the worldwide growth of the Gospel music genre.  Known as the endearing host of BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel - the longest running program in cable television history, Bobby Jones is also widely lauded for his work in film, theatre, radio, books and music.  Now stepping into the role of artist once again, Jones prepares for the release of his first major label CD in a decade.  THE AMBASSADOR, a masterful assortment of songs of praise and thanksgiving, is scheduled for release on November 20, 2007.

The 10-song studio collection is pure celebration and a landmark for the artist.  The project contains a clever mix of traditional, contemporary and urban gospel music delivered by award-winning hitmakers including Victor and Cedric Caldwell; PAJAM (Paul “PDA” Allen, J Moss and Walter Kearney); Donald Lawrence and Teddy Riley.  THE AMBASSADOR spans the gamut of Gospel sounds while still being cohesive and flaunting the legendary Bobby Jones’ own unique style.

Jones taps some notable friends to join him on the project as guest artists.  Leading the way with the CD’s first radio single is Clark Sister Karen Clark-Sheard.  Jones and Clark-Sheard trade vocals on “Can’t Nobody,” a track about the matchless favor of the Lord.  Songs like the emotive “The Hand of the Lord,” written by Donald Lawrence and performed by guest soloist Vanessa Bell Armstrong; as well as the V. Michael McKay penned track “He Alone Knows,” featuring the stunning vocal prowess of Darwin Hobbs, clearly demonstrate the focus of the project.  Songstress Shirley Murdock lets loose on the moving, worshipful “Kings Of Kings” and J Moss ministers powerfully on the exciting “Thank You Lord.”

When speaking of the CD, Jones has difficulty choosing a favorite song:  “They’re all my favorites; they all come with their own special style.  I love each song for its individuality.  It’s like friendships; you appreciate each one for different reasons.  I love each song on this project!”

Bobby Jones has carved his legacy into the history of Gospel music.  BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel, on the air since 1980, is the first and only nationally syndicated black Gospel television show.  He also has TV programs on BET Gospel, The Word Network and The Gospel Channel.  The pioneer has received countless awards and commendations including a GRAMMY Award, a Dove Award and three Stellar Awards, as well as a presidential commendation from President George W. Bush.  He’s heard weekly on the Sheridan Gospel Network’s “The Bobby Jones Gospel Countdown” and he’s published two books, Touched By God and Make A Joyful Noise, My Twenty Five Years In Gospel Music.  He’s also written numerous plays and has starred in motion pictures including the December 2007 release of “Dirty Laundry” with co-star Loretta Devine and Jennifer Lewis.

THE AMBASSADOR is the comma to a long list of accomplishments for Jones, but for him it’s about much more than the accolades. “I want my work to speak for me and be the legacy that I leave.  If the project becomes number one, it means nothing unless it becomes number one with God,” he says.

“Whoever He wants to hear it, then let them hear it.  It’s not about getting on the charts; to me, that’s not the important thing.  The important thing is that people get a blessing from the words God gave me to say.”

Ricky Dillard Returns With New CD 7th Episode Live In Toronto!

New York, NY –  All-new music from Gospel’s ultimate showman hits stores this Fall with the return of Ricky Dillard and New G on the release of 7th EPISODE LIVE IN TORONTO.

This hotly anticipated new project from Dillard was recorded earlier this year in Canada to a packed house.  In a tragic coincidence Dillard’s home in Atlanta burned to the ground that very evening leading to the popular Gospel artist to lose his house and most of his possessions.  Though borne out of tragedy, this album is a symbol of resiliency.

James Hall Worship & Praise “Live in Foxwoods” in Stores Now!

Brooklyn, NY - Music Blend Inc will release its sophomore project JAMES HALL WORSHIP & PRAISE “Live in Foxwoods” in stores October 2nd.

The return of the Duke of Gospel aptly describes the newest CD from James Hall.
This live recording was done last year at the Foxwoods Resort-Fox Theatre in Connecticut.  “Live at Foxwoods is a sound, a lyric and a word explication that is nothing short of brilliant. As usual, Hall delivers what we expect from him. A musical  art piece that will stir up, cheer for and celebrate the ultimate praise and worship experience that lives with us all, and will ignite the lifting of our hands to the holy one.

The new CD, “James Hall Live at Foxwoods”, is produced, written and arranged by James Hall for Music Blend Inc. The new single entitled, “That Shall He Reap”, denotes that dark, minor embellishment to a Brooklyn NY groove which the Duke is so known for.

James Hall has a rich history in the gospel industry.  You may remember James Hall & Worship and Praise from such hit records as “God is In Control”,James Hall Live in Lincoln Centerand “We Are at War”.

Grammy Award Winning Songwriter and Producer BeBe Winans, Set To Release 5th Solo Project!

Nashville, TN - When you hear the name BeBe Winans, you immediately think talented, gifted, loved, with a soulful tenor voice.

BeBe Winans is a groundbreaking inspirational, R&B and Gospel vocalist, writer, and producer. BeBe has won four Grammy Awards, ten Dove Awards, six Stellar Awards, two NAACP Awards and a Soul Train Award. A multi faceted artist, BeBe not only has a successful recording career, but also recently launched a syndicated radio show and returned to acting in both film and theater.

On September 25, BeBe’s next album Cherch was released on iTunes with the in-store CD to be released on October 30. This 2-disc collection is filled with old time foot-stomping, hand-clapping favorites. It brings the songs of yesterday into the here and now.

This current project Cherch is taking BeBe back to his roots in gospel music. Not only will you hear his heart on this album, you will hear just how much gospel music has evolved over the years and how BeBe infuses fun and laughter into his message.

BeBe’s success and Cherch roots continue a blessed family tradition that started with his parents and older brothers. Singing background for his famous older brothers (The Winans), BeBe began making his career singing background on the “Praise the Lord” (PTL) television show with his sister CeCe. While on PTL, they recorded the song “Lord Lift Us Up” due to popular demand on the show. After the success of that song, they went on to record an entire album which led into a recording career neither one could have dreamed of, garnering an amazing run of smash hits, platinum-selling albums, and awards.

BeBe and CeCe recorded albums such as BeBe And CeCe Winans (Sparrow/Capitol, 1987), Heaven (Sparrow/Capitol, 1988), Different Lifestyles (Sparrow/Capitol, 1991), First Christmas (Sparrow/Capitol, 1993), Relationships (Sparrow/Capitol, 1994), Greatest Hits (Sparrow/EMI, 1996) and The Best Of BeBe And CeCe (Sparrow, 2006).

Although BeBe and CeCe worked phenomenally well together as a duo, they both knew they had bigger dreams and plans for their lives individually. In 1995, the dynamic duo of BeBe and CeCe split to do their own solo projects.
