Rev. Timothy Wright Update: Funeral Set for Wife & Grandson

The funeral services of Rev. Timothy Wright's wife, Betty, and grandson, 14-year-old D.J., have been set for the last weekend in July, according to an outgoing voice message at Wright's church, Grace Tabernacle Christian Center Church of Brooklyn.

Fifty-eight-year-old Betty Wright and D.J. Wright will lie in state at the church on Sunday, July 27. The time for the viewing on the message was not clear enough for me to determine whether it would start or end at noon, which is the time mentioned in the outgoing message.

The funeral is 10 a.m. the next day at Washington Temple, 1327 Bedford Ave., which is also in Brooklyn.

Wright, who had surgery today, remains in critical condition, hospital officials said today.

They would not elaborate further.

Betty Wright and D.J. Wright died from their injuries in a head-on collision over the July 4th weekend in which a driver on Interstate 80 in Danville, Pa., was driving the wrong way. Wright's vehicle was hit twice, in the front and by another driver in the rear who couldn't see the accident because of smoke.

Wright is aware his grandson died in the accident. However, as of yesterday, he was unaware that his wife of about 40 years had died. Family members were hoping to tell him when his condition improves, hospital officials said earlier this week.

Wright is known as the "Godfather of Gospel.'' His latest hit includes "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,'' which was written by his wife and dedicated to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

The family was returning home from a church conference in Detroit when the accident occurred.

Donations may be sent to:

UPDATE:

Rev. Timothy Wright had a successful surgery and is responding well to treatment and therapies, a release by his son, David Wright, says on the gospel singer's myspace page.

Wright sustained numerous injuries in a July 4 weekend crash in which his wife Betty Wright and grandson D.J. Wright died.

The myspace page has a slightly different time than we just reported for the wake for Betty Wright and D.J. Wright Sunday, July 27. The page says it will begin at noon at their church, Grace Tabernacle Christian Center Church of God in Christ, 1745 Pacific St., Brooklyn.

The "Homegoing Celebration'' is the next day at 11 a.m. at Washington Temple COGIC, 1372 Bedford Ave., Brooklyn.

The internment will be at Greenfield Cemetery in Uniondale, N.Y.

In lieu of floral tributes, the family is asking for financial tributes, which can be sent to Rev. Timothy Wright, 15 Meyer St., Roosevelt, N.Y., 11575.

Pastor Gregg Patrick & The Bridge Project Breaks Out with CROSS OVER!

Atlanta, GA – Pastor Gregg Patrick enters into the Gospel musical forefront in his debut recording with his church choir and friends. Gregg Patrick & The Bridge Project featuring the Bridge Mass Choir is an exceptional blend of traditional Gospel, Contemporary Christian, and Praise & Worship songs. This premiere project is sure to be one of the most incredible musical offerings this year. The project will be released on the newly formed joint venture Tyscot Records – Crossover Entertainment and in stores Tuesday, June 17th on CD and DVD. The album features the latest hit single “I Am A Witness” featuring Rhonda McLemore is already blazing up the charts and moving into massive radio airplay across the nation.

It was some 17 years ago when Pastor Gregg Patrick founded “The Bridge, Southwest Community Christian Center” (SWCCC) in Houston, Texas with 19 members and a vision to meet the growing spiritual needs of its surrounding community. Since 1991, SWCCC has grown into a mega-church of more than 8,000 members. The ministry and its leader have become renowned for awesome leadership, special events, concerts and community outreach including the Stellar Awards Star Search, which yielded Micah Stampley; and Patrick continues to produce the world wide annual broadcast of Take It To The Bridge Gospel gathering, which each year, features the greatest in gospel music.. It was inevitable that this phenomenal ministry would rise up one of the finest choirs in the country with over 100 members. Patrick is in the planning stages of bringing this major production to many cities across the nation. He will take his ministry abroad in June, but will return to the states in time to celebrate the release on June 17th.

Known for being an awesome leader and executive, Pastor Patrick is a lover of great music and Christian entertainment. On November 14th 2006, in front of a standing room only audience at SWCCC, the Bridge Choir recorded its first album entitled "Gregg Patrick, the Bridge Project featuring the Bridge Mass Choir”. This diverse project also features Dr. Bobby Jones, Shawn McClemore, Ted Winn, Alvanetta Nelson, Nakita Clegg-Fox, Brian Hurst, Nikki Ross, Gregg Patrick and more.

Pastor Patrick joined forces with celebrated composer and producer Elvin Ross, who with extensive experience in composition, Gospel and pop music was able to capture the true essence of worship the live worship experience at SWCCC.

In 2007, Pastor Patrick established his new record label, Crossover Entertainment LLC, to produce and distribute musical works, including the Bridge Project, in partnership with Tyscot Records.

The 12-track CD/DVD features outstanding production, masterful vocals and lyrics penned by Gospel music icons as V. Michael McKay, Darius Brooks, Ted Winn, Myron Butler, Shawn McLemore, Maurice Rogers and Joel Britton. From the beginning of the first song until the very end of the last song, the project delivers powerful inspirational, contemporary and traditional messages that are fitting radio formats. The video will make its debut on most national programs in the next few weeks.

“Every song is a virtual hit; every choir will want to sing every song,” says Charles Hudson, KTSU Radio in Houston.

Alvanetta Nelson reached back and gave a soul-stirring performance on the hand clapping, foot stumping traditional gospel single, “Just Like That.” Shawn McClemore delivers riveting performances on “Holy,” and “El Shaddai” and the tightly woven neo-soul remake of “Saved” is already getting major nods from radio program directors. “Lord I Love You” is a moving song of love to the Lord full of musical brilliance and vocal strength by Nakita Clegg-Fox of the Kurt Carr Singers.

Television legend Dr. Bobby Jones, stopped by to stamp his seal of approval by extending and ovation for Pastor Patrick in his introduction of the project. To quote Dr. Jones, “I’ve never stayed for an entire recording session before….I enjoyed every moment of every song! The CD is sure to be a classic”

V. Michael McKay’s “I Am A Witness” is a song of encouragement and affirmation to stand on God’s promises. Pastor Patrick narrates this powerful song while Rhonda McLemore takes the lead. McKay came nightly to teach the song to the choir to ensure a successful recording.

Ted Winn celebrates with high praise on the smash, “Celebration” penned by Winn and Myron Butler.

Plans are under way for promotional tours, in-store signing and release parties in select cities. Stay tuned to www.crossoverentertainment.net.

Columbia Records Announces "Standout" The New Spirit-Filled Live Album From Tye Tribbett!

Columbia Records will release StandOUT, the much anticipated new album from the contemporary gospel singer, songwriter, and performer Tye Tribbett and his gospel choir and musical ensemble, G.A. (Greater Anointing), on Tuesday, May 6. StandOUT is the first new full-length album from Tye Tribbett and G.A. since the groundbreaking gospel artist's Victory Live! entered the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart at #1, shortly following its release in May 2006. A DVD edition of Victory Live! has sold more than 40,000 copies.

A crossover success featuring the #1 Gospel Radio single, "Victory," Victory Live! hit #64 on the Billboard Top 200 best-selling albums chart while earning Tribbett two Stellar Awards and three Grammy nominations -- Best Gospel Performance ("Victory"); Best Gospel Song ("Victory"); and Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album.

Recorded live at Rock Church International in Virginia Beach on August 17, 2007, StandOUT premieres a group of new musical testimonies to the Power of the Word and the Glory of the Holy Spirit, each written or co-written by Tye Tribbett: "Stand Out," "Hold On," "Look Up," "I Need You," "Prodigal Son," "All Hail The King," "Hallelujah," "Let Us Worship," "So Amazing," "He Has Made Me Glad," "I Made It Through," "Chasing After You," and "Well Done." As an added blessing for Tribbett fans, StandOUT includes the hidden bonus track, the single "Good In The Hood."

Tye Tribbett, a co-host, along with Kirk Franklin and Mary Mary, at the 22nd Annual Stellar Awards ceremony, and G.A. have performed with a variety of pop and gospel superstars ranging from Justin Timberlake and Faith Hill to Mary J. Blige, Donnie McClurkin, Kim Burrell and Israel Houghton.

Tye Tribbett sponsored his second annual youth conference earlier this year in the Poconos, with more than 1,000 attending. He will be performing at this year's Essence Festival in New Orleans.

Born in Camden, New Jersey, Tye Tribbett is the son of two preachers…both his mother and father wore the cloth…and Tye himself, a loving husband and father of two daughters, has responded to the Call, going on to minister through his music and the Living Word. Growing up surrounded by hymns and gospel music, Tye learned to make music at an early age. "I've been playing all my life," he explains. "Before I knew my ABC's, I knew the ABC's on the keys." As a teenager, he honed his skills as a keyboardist by accompanying such regional notables as Steve Middleton, the late James Viner and the Tri-State Mass Choir of the Edwin Hawkins Music & Arts Seminar.

In 1996, Tye founded a gospel choir, Greater Anointing (G.A.), consisting of a group of family and friends whose hearts were set simply on praising the Creator through the gift of great music. Tye knew from the beginning they'd tapped into something real and glorious. "That first rehearsal blew my mind," he says. "The musicianship, the quality of the voices and the spirit of the choir, the character of everybody…I knew that this was it. I knew that this is what I was supposed to be doing."

Dorinda Clark-Cole Releases Third Solo CD “Take It Back” In Stores April 15, 2008!

New York, NY – In the Clark Sister tradition of creating musical wonderment that celebrates life and brings a smile to anyone within hearing distance, Dorinda Clark-Cole’s incomparable vocal flair has wowed Gospel music lovers for more than 25 years – both as a solo artist and as part of The Clark Sisters - one of Gospel music’s most exciting groups. Her third solo album, TAKE IT BACK, comes on the heels of the phenomenal Clark Sisters CD “Live – One Last Time,” which landed the group its first three Grammy Awards as well as their first performance since 1985 on the seminal award show.

In stores April 15, TAKE IT BACK was co-written by Dorinda Clark-Cole with production by Asaph Ward and PAJAM. The disc features powerful songs of triumph, hope and encouragement with musical styles that run the gamut from neo-soul and jazz to the foot-stomping, make-you-want-to-get-up-and-dance traditional gospel for which Dorinda Clark-Cole is known.

The exuberant first single, also the title track, is currently heating up at radio. It was the highest debut its first week on the gospel radio charts and is now, five short weeks later, poised to break the Top-10. The track has been #1 Most Added and #1 Most Increased Airplay numerous times already. “Take It Back” is more than a song; it is Dorinda Clark-Cole’s theme for this year. “I’m taking back everything that the enemy has stolen from me over the last three years,” says Clark-Cole. “He tried to take my dreams…he tried to take the next generation…he tried to kill my daughter! I’m going to take it back and I want people to know that’s what they need to do, and can do!”

Also included on TAKE IT BACK is the beautiful, restorative “Yesterday;” a song Clark-Cole says is very dear to her heart. “‘Yesterday” is saying that the things that happened yesterday are no more…so now I work towards my future and I can go on. It’s about knowing that today wouldn’t have been if it weren’t for yesterday.” A new twist on the gospel classic “Got To Hold On” is a sure favorite; “It’s Okay;” a mellow, soulful track features her daughter Nicole and her niece Kierra “KiKi” Sheard ; and “Praise Your Way Out” was birthed out of a recent message she preached, declaring “if you can praise your way through it, He will bring you out of it.”

“This CD speaks to anything that you are going though or have experienced,” says Clark-Cole. “I want people to know that when you go through a situation, don’t get stuck. Don’t even look at the situation, it’s just temporary. I want people to not give up and just know they can get through any circumstance.”

Tyscot Founder Celebrates 30 Years with New CD!

What started in 1976 has become legendary status now for Bishop Leonard Scott; his label Tyscot is the oldest African-American owned Gospel Record Label in the nation.

Now the founder returns to his roots and releases a new 14-track CD and DVD “BE LIFTED UP” - Tuesday, April 15th in stores and online everywhere. BE LIFTED UP features stalwarts Darwin Hobbs (“Bow My Spirit”) Dove Award–winning Christian artist Rachel Lampa (“You Are My Source”), The Calvary Temple Praise Choir and more. This album comes on the heels of the 2006 “Hymns for the Nation and Hymns and Church Songs Live from Alabama” CD/DVD releases.

As a worship leader, he chose the title Be Lifted Up for obvious reasons.  “The title cut, which is upbeat, is a song that’s based on the Scripture where Jesus says, ‘If I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me.’  In the midst of what we do, trying to save souls, we need to lift Him up, because that’s the way they are going to be drawn,” admonishes Bishop Scott. Other tracks include the skyrocketing up-tempo “Mighty God”,  a powerful rock ballad “Lord You Reign”, the joyous “You Will Keep In Peace”, the beautifully structured “I’ll Pray For You” and more.

He pulls his guitar out to provide those classic strokes on the album and while featuring R&B/urban Gospel artist DARWIN HOBBS and contemporary Christian artist RACHEL LAMPA, he does not alienate his fan base. BE LIFTED UP quenches the thirst of Bishop’s hymnal fans with the “Closer Medley” which includes “In Your Presence,” “Close To Thee,” “Closer Lord To Thee” and “I Am Thine O Lord (Draw Me Nearer).”

Having a life-changing experience is the goal of “Be Lifted Up”.  Bishop Scott wrote many of the songs on the release, which was produced by Tracy Williamson – Tyscot Records former label director.

For the press, Tyscot Records has included a special media-friendly electronic press kit CD in the CD/DVD package containing many photos from the recording session, interviews, behind-the-scenes segments and many more never-before-seen or heard items to wet the appetite and feed the fans with lots of tidbit information about this project, Bishop Leonard Scott, Darwin Hobbs, Rachel Lampa and much, much more.

Bishop Leonard Scott has written and recorded with DEITRICK HADDON, REV. JOHN P. KEE, BROOKLYN TABERNACLE, ISRAEL HOUGHTON, GARY OLVER, MORRIS CHAPMAN, ALBERTINA WALKER, DEANDRE PATTERSON, VASHAWN MITCHELL and many more.

A father, grandfather, CEO and more, Bishop Scott balances ministry, music and his other occupation as a Dentist just by staying Christ-centered and focused. www.tyscot.com

Troy Sneed’s Group, Bonafide Praisers New CD Debuts in Top 30 on Billboard Gospel Album Sales Chart!

Troy Sneed’s Latest Vocal Creation-Bonafide Praisers New CD “Destined To Worship”. Debuts in the Top 30 on Billboard Gospel Album Sales Chart

Hailed as one of the Top producers of the Year for the last two years, Troy Sneed, who was integrally involved in creating the music on Whitney Houston’s double-platinum “Preacher’s Wife” soundtrack, continues to rack up hits for his Emtro Gospel label. His latest ensemble, Bonafide Praisers, has debuted at #27 on Billboard magazine’s gospel album sales chart with their new CD “Destined to Worship.”

His own “Hallelujah”, Bishop Bruce Parham’s “Call Jesus” and Alvin Darling’s “Nobody But the Lord” have all been Top Ten Billboard gospel radio smashes within the last year and now Sneed’s new vocal ensemble, Bonafide Praisers, are threatening to take their debut single all the way to the Top Ten as well. The single “Work it Out”  is continuing to build and has inched from #18 last week to #15 with a bullet this week on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart.

After realizing the impact of another Emtro Gospel act Youth for Christ’s “The Struggle is Over” (#1 on Billboard for 12 weeks) had on the nation through the outpouring of emails and phone calls of people testifying about how the song touched their hearts, Sneed asked God to give him a song to further encourage people and “Work it Out” is the result. “In today’s times gospel music needs to speak to people where they are,” Sneed says.

Similar in concept to Emtro Gospel’s Youth For Christ ensemble, Bonafide Praisers is a musical concept ensemble of local singers gathered in Jacksonville, Florida. However, Sneed’s vision is to go to a different city each year in search of true Bonafide Praisers and record new music with them. Sneed says, “The response has already been incredible. Of course, I want success for the projects but at the end of the day, I want God’s people to be healed through the power of praise.”

Visit www.emtro.com for further information on other Emtro Gospel projects. Emtro Gospel products are distributed by Warner Music Group Ryko Distribution (mainstream) and Word Distribution for the CBA in association with Taseis Media Group.

Euclid Gray’s “Unleashed” In Stores Now!

Euclid Gray, formerly of the R. Kelly’s platinum R&B Public Announcement and known to millions as Rev. Henry Oliver in Tyler Perry’s hit play and DVD release “Meet The Brown’s,” made his debut Malaco release and transition into the Gospel arena with a fan favorite, Urban Inspirational release “Father Guide Me” in 2006. His accomplishments up to this point afforded Euclid instant face recognition with the Gospel and mainstream audiences; however his 2nd Malaco release, “Unleashed” just may categorize all those accomplishments as simply humble beginnings.

“Unleashed” is the first of the 8 for 8 product line to be released from Malaco Records. That’s right 8 songs for $8.

Euclid Gray’s “Unleashed” contains eight (8) hyped, powerful, hand clapping, foot stomping tracks that will make you want to get up and dance whether you are in the pews, in the clubs, your home, office or car. The tracks range from “Let Me Praise Him”, a feel good, up-tempo, swing out, big band flavor dance track to “Ain’t Goin’ Get Mine,” a funky rock Michael Jacksonesque track to “You Must Go” a Dance Hall / Hip Hop Reggae track to a Euro House/ Dance remix of “Ghetto Gospel Man” House/ Dance taken from the “Father Guide Me” CD. “Unleashed” is clean, fun, inspiring music for the whole family to enjoy. Consumers will experience the thrill ride of a lifetime.

The title track and single “Let Me Praise Him” was test marketed in Buffalo, NY and not only did it become the most requested song on the BDS station, it rose to the top of the station’s play list in a matter of a few weeks and eventually knocked Kirk Franklin’s “Declaration” single out of the number one spot; Here is what Dwayne Cumberlander, Program Director, WUFO Buffalo had to say, "Clap your hands, stomp your feet, "Let Me Praise Him" isa refreshingly energetic song thathasbeen needed. More than just gospel radio will love this song! “Our phone lines ring off the hook. “Let Me Praise Him” is audience favorite of all ages!”

Elroy R. C. Smith, Operations Manager for Radio One’s FM properties in Philadelphia, PA states, “Let Me Praise Him” by Euclid Gray is refreshing. The energy, the beat and the message brings a good feel to my radio station. This song is infectious and we at PRAISE 103.9 PHILLY were the first to bring this song to light in the Philadelphia metropolitan area!”

If this is any indication as to how well “Let Me Praise Him” will perform nationally, at this price point, Euclid Gray’s “Unleashed” will very well become the top selling big surprise hit of 2008!

Kirk Franklin Returns with "The Fight of My Life" December 18th!

New York, NY - Fo Yo Soul Entertainment/Zomba Gospel recording artist KIRK FRANKLIN, the top-selling Contemporary Gospel artist in Soundscan history, will add another tour de force to his vast discography with the forthcoming release of his seventh CD, THE FIGHT OF MY LIFE.  Franklin, who is credited with revolutionizing gospel music, will release this exceptional collection of all new material on December 18.

Franklin says of the CD, "Carol and Michael are fighting for their marriage. Deborah is fighting to keep from losing her mind.  Jeff is fighting to keep his home.  David is fighting for his faith.  Welcome to THE FIGHT OF MY LIFE."

The first single from the album, "Declaration (This Is It!)," is an upbeat and encouraging song that re-interprets the smooth-groove classic hit, "This Is It," co-written by Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald, by addressing survival through the everyday trials and tribulations through a positive declaration of one's purpose in life.  "This song is a statement that 'serves notice' on unnecessary frustrations, relationships and circumstances that continue to attack our life," says Franklin. "Unlike the children of Israel who wandered in the wilderness, when we totally surrender to God, what took 40 years, God 'can' fix in 40 minutes."  Declaration (This Is It!) is currently #1 most added and #1 most increased airplay at Gospel radio, and is also impacting urban radio.

Sure to become another classic anthem, the lyrics express what many feel in today's uncertain world.  "There've been times in my life, I've been wondering why - but, still somehow I believe, we always survive."  The song - a cheer of sorts - builds with an accompanying, hand-clapping groove to suggest strength can be found through positive declaration, God's grace and prayer:  "This is it - you can't mess with my mind anymore, I've sworn I've been here before - it's a new day, I'm not afraid anymore - yes, I believe if you believe."

"Kirk Franklin is one of those rare artists whose music instantly strikes a chord with the human spirit," says Jazzy Jordan, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Zomba Gospel. "On 'Declaration (This Is It!),' he again demonstrates a unique ability to articulate through song sentiments that resonate with people from all walks of life. This single is surely going to be another hit for Kirk Franklin, setting the tone for yet another incredible body of work."

After more than 15 years as the top-selling, multiple Grammy award-winning contemporary gospel artist, Kirk Franklin continually demonstrates that he is more than just an artist - he is a voice and a musical balm for his generation.  THE FIGHT OF MY LIFE is another display of the genius fusion of his positive message and urban beats that have made him a mainstay atop Billboard charts for more than a decade.

THE FIGHT OF MY LIFE takes the listener on a spirit-filled journey from the soaring "Help Me Believe," a letter set to music that speaks for those who may be doubting their own faith but are looking to God for re-confirmation and strength; to the more traditional, tambourine-shakin', foot-tappin', "He Will Supply" that will surely become a musical staple every choir will want to sing come Sunday morning service.  Another standout track is "Jesus," a hip cheerful ode that simply celebrates Kirk's love of the Almighty.

As the music industry struggles to remain connected to fans that are weary of microwave stars, Kirk Franklin has remained a favorite and is applauded for being innovative, relevant and authentic. The heart of who he is and his personal story struck a resounding chord with his fans years ago and they have remained loyal ever since.  As he achieved more success, Franklin has remained connected to his audience through music that speaks frankly to life's issues and struggles, while always offering a chord of hope and optimism.

"We're very excited about the release of THE FIGHT OF MY LIFE," says Carla Williams, Vice President and General Manager of FoYo Soul Entertainment. "It is right in step, we believe, with what God is saying to encourage His people in song through Kirk; I know I'm biased, but to me it's a music masterpiece and we cannot wait to share with our loyal friends (fans) in the days to come."

His latest CD, HERO is RIAA-certified platinum and he has seven additional RIAA-certified gold, platinum and multi-platinum selling releases to date.  The musical trendsetter has garnered 5 GRAMMY® Awards, 11 Doves, 34 Stellars, 4 NAACP Image Awards, two BET Award and a 2006 American Music Award to date.

Gospel Television Pioneer Bobby Jones’ New CD THE AMBASSADOR In Stores November 20, 2007!

New York, NY – Gospel industry superstar and television icon Bobby Jones has paved the way for countless artists and contributed to the worldwide growth of the Gospel music genre.  Known as the endearing host of BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel - the longest running program in cable television history, Bobby Jones is also widely lauded for his work in film, theatre, radio, books and music.  Now stepping into the role of artist once again, Jones prepares for the release of his first major label CD in a decade.  THE AMBASSADOR, a masterful assortment of songs of praise and thanksgiving, is scheduled for release on November 20, 2007.

The 10-song studio collection is pure celebration and a landmark for the artist.  The project contains a clever mix of traditional, contemporary and urban gospel music delivered by award-winning hitmakers including Victor and Cedric Caldwell; PAJAM (Paul “PDA” Allen, J Moss and Walter Kearney); Donald Lawrence and Teddy Riley.  THE AMBASSADOR spans the gamut of Gospel sounds while still being cohesive and flaunting the legendary Bobby Jones’ own unique style.

Jones taps some notable friends to join him on the project as guest artists.  Leading the way with the CD’s first radio single is Clark Sister Karen Clark-Sheard.  Jones and Clark-Sheard trade vocals on “Can’t Nobody,” a track about the matchless favor of the Lord.  Songs like the emotive “The Hand of the Lord,” written by Donald Lawrence and performed by guest soloist Vanessa Bell Armstrong; as well as the V. Michael McKay penned track “He Alone Knows,” featuring the stunning vocal prowess of Darwin Hobbs, clearly demonstrate the focus of the project.  Songstress Shirley Murdock lets loose on the moving, worshipful “Kings Of Kings” and J Moss ministers powerfully on the exciting “Thank You Lord.”

When speaking of the CD, Jones has difficulty choosing a favorite song:  “They’re all my favorites; they all come with their own special style.  I love each song for its individuality.  It’s like friendships; you appreciate each one for different reasons.  I love each song on this project!”

Bobby Jones has carved his legacy into the history of Gospel music.  BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel, on the air since 1980, is the first and only nationally syndicated black Gospel television show.  He also has TV programs on BET Gospel, The Word Network and The Gospel Channel.  The pioneer has received countless awards and commendations including a GRAMMY Award, a Dove Award and three Stellar Awards, as well as a presidential commendation from President George W. Bush.  He’s heard weekly on the Sheridan Gospel Network’s “The Bobby Jones Gospel Countdown” and he’s published two books, Touched By God and Make A Joyful Noise, My Twenty Five Years In Gospel Music.  He’s also written numerous plays and has starred in motion pictures including the December 2007 release of “Dirty Laundry” with co-star Loretta Devine and Jennifer Lewis.

THE AMBASSADOR is the comma to a long list of accomplishments for Jones, but for him it’s about much more than the accolades. “I want my work to speak for me and be the legacy that I leave.  If the project becomes number one, it means nothing unless it becomes number one with God,” he says.

“Whoever He wants to hear it, then let them hear it.  It’s not about getting on the charts; to me, that’s not the important thing.  The important thing is that people get a blessing from the words God gave me to say.”
